its been a night mare for me to cut and paste my CV from MS word.doc file to the web site which asks for plain text version of your CV. A lot of employment sites require u to paste your CV on the space provided on the web page and it caused many problems for me as all the formatting is gone both the left and right alignment is disturbed and formatting again is such a mess
so is it just me or others have faced this problem too ???
so obviously i need ur help to sort this matter out how to cut and paste ur resume so that when the employer sees it online in plain text mode its correctly formatted . specially how do u right align the text correctly ???
Make ur resume in "Notepad" instead of in Word. Notepad supports the pure ASCII format, whereas Word has multiple different formats and usually fancy ones. Computerized search for ASCII plaintext is easier for software and is usually the standard by several employers. So just do ur indentation in 'Notepad', and if u wanna highlight some stuff, use characters like "=>" or "*" or whatever reasonable from the keyboard.
Never forget formatting. If the prospective employer can’t follow ur CV chances are its going in the garbage. Try printing email resumes that you get from Monster.
Its sometimes just the packaging that will get you the job.
