can someone enlighten me as to whether customs duty is payable on the parcels received from Pakistani vendors that many guppans are buying from ( for eg,
stoppit’s designer and prototype). If so, then with cost of suit, delivery and customs (if its payable) doesn’t that make for an expensive outfit?
which country do you live in ? sometimes Canadian customers have to pay taxes though we declare under $25 for items' value and send them as gifts but they have weird laws ! My UK customer once had to pay 35GBP but her box was 30kg ..
Its a hit and a miss.... I have never had to pay taxes...but my mil did when her parcel came...it weighed less than mone and cost less too...but thats just how it was played....
She has has several more parcels sent and hasnt had to pay anything after that one time....
:D that's like a good girl. sub qismat pe daal do. qismat knows no logics, policies or rules ! :D
Honestly tbats how it is. They dont care whats on the description or cost... If they think a garments looks and feels likeits expensive...they will chargeu tax... Then you go with a receipt and show them its below the allowed costs...
No one in the UK so far as had to pay customs. I'm pretty sure that often the packages are not sent with their real value. I know Skynet don't put the real value when they make the parcels up for clients.
I told the vendor/designer that I advertise for that he should give clients the option of whether he puts the real value or not, because the above is risky if the parcel goes missing and if the real value is on the package.. then they should be prepared for making a possible VAT payment. But as I mentioned, so far, no one has had to pay anything as far as I know. It's just bad luck when it happens.
