Custom Lengha?

HI guys i like a lengha in a mag and i am going to Pakistan (Lahore) after christmas, and rather than spend a lot of money i was going to get it made in Lahore.
However my mum says i should get the material myself as the darzi always use cheap material so it is best to get the material yourself.
I also wanted to make my Mehindi suit in chiffon. My mum is not coming so i am relying on my cousin, who is not into fashion!!! Dont have any other family in LAhore!
So really where would i go to get good quality material and to get the colour i want???
Any help will be greatly appreicted.

Ash xx

hey i don't know much about pak either as i don't live there but i knwo a couple of places in lahore. they mayb useful to you.

liberty (liberty's back is well known for cheap but good kaam, etc)
liberty market itself is known for good quality cheap clothes..there's also a market knwon as cavalry grounds ..(you can find good stuff there,,a little bit pricy though)

m.m alam road is full of designer shops ( u can go there for high end clothes but b prepard to pay a high price)

then there's good old anarkali but i think for anarkali u need to have lots of time on ur hands to be able to find the right stuff as there's too much of everything (good n bad)

Re: Custom Lengha?

my mamis live in lahore Aishan..haha if you want they can help you i guess?

Re: Custom Lengha?

that's sucks...but u know chances are u'll probably find a lehnga in pakistan better than the pics. unimaginable sometimes, but this is wat everyone tell me whenever i tell them i wanna copy a design...that'll i'll find better things than the pic in the bazaars there.

Re: Custom Lengha?

cavalry ground shops esp. al-fajr for fabric.
liberty market dupatta gali shops for kaam/embroidery.
these are the place i rely for the material/kaam for my clients and myself.
my tailor is in model town though.

Can someone give me the address for Calvery grounds, where about in LAhore is this place. Is there i will get loose material??? or is that Al-fajr or is that the same place?????
Sorry for sounding dumb!

Re: Custom Lengha?

al-fajr is a loose fabric store on cavalry ground. theres lots of similar fabric stores there on either side of the road.

Re: Custom Lengha?

try going to zardosi it's reasonable and the embroidery is good, they normally deal in bridal or look around on websites and find something you like and talk to the designers, arrange a meeting with them they will help you out. You wont have to run around as much.

Re: Custom Lengha?

Hey Aishan its really important tht u get someone who is into fashion if ur making the dress urself its not easy....am getting my dress made myself and i know its not easy....first do a search and see where u find good kaam then search for the kapra look for a good tailor get the prices and then choose n order what u want
