I am kind of bored of the present curtains we have in our drawing room. Its a big window so we got rust/beige kind of blinds, curtains(teal & beige) to go with them, to be tied on the sides, and a single pelmet on top. The base colour of the drawing room is teal or olive green-ish kind.
I want to get new curtains for the drawing room; those that look classy yet are simple. This time I dont want curtains & blinds both. Just one should do. Suggestions?
Re: Curtains for the drawing room
The room sounds very nice Daffy. Ok, how about just simple roman blinds, or leave your beige blinds as they are and instead of heavy curtains, just add a light floaty sheer fabric around the windows to frame it. Below, I have added pics to give you some ideas. :)
Re: Curtains for the drawing room
The ones we have are on the lines of the 2nd one - curtain + blinds & a pelmet too. I like the first & last one. I think to keep it simple something like the first one should be good. hanna?
Re: Curtains for the drawing room
Daffy when i went curtain hunting in lahore a few months back i was shocked to find the prices of them ! I thought the best deal was to get the a single colored curtain with nice looking pelmet maybe ...
put personally I loved the style similar to the last pic posted by MissF ... so like you have a light colored or dark colored curtain and a stylish border around the sides and the top...
Re: Curtains for the drawing room
Yes, the last pic is what I meant when I wrote about using light floaty material to frame the windows. I think it will give you the modern look you are after. Also Daffy, since we are on the subject, can you tell us about good home interior shops in Lahore. ( please share them in the other thread relevant to interior stores! ) :)
Re: Curtains for the drawing room
I am considering the last one as well. The flowy drop seems elegant so might as well get this.
CB - I am not going to get ready made ones. We'll probably get the fabric & get it stitched ourselves. It cost us quite less than what the ready made ones were turning out to be,

Interior stores are:
Haroon's interiors (for lamps & furniture) ,
Chen One (the decoration items, wall hangings, paintings are good but this place is a little expensive) , Gul Ahmed* (the fabric is so so)*
Casa Bella (its in mini market)
Casa Hamza* (in D.H.A)*
Kalamkaar* (Is more of designer kind of stuff, has antique ancient stuff as well but expensive)*
