Gosh I have meaning to open up similar threads like yours. I would love to see the ideas. I have been out looking for curtains at bed bath & beyond....and i do see lots of stripes...but tons of other designs..im leaning towards the silk curtains that are thick...hmm but not sure....i also like the sueded ones.....but then i am also leaning towards roman shades...

Best places to look for curtains are Bed Bath & Beyond, and Jcpenney!

JC Penney has superb designs. Their swags are the best.

Roman shades and plantation shutters are very in. As for curtains patterns are all the rave but I think solid color works better.

we have decided to put the shutters in but there are rooms that are more formal and we definitely need to have draperies in there.

also heard that the stripes should be horizontal.....

Most stripes I've seen for the drapes are vertical and the stripes in the valances or toppers match the vertical stripes of the drapes and are vertical of diagonal (if a swag valance).

we're getting roman blinds.

IMO, shutters only look good in the kitchen.

i bought some fab suede curtains with block print designs on them from khi. funky and everyone loves them.

stripes have been in for some time now and i love striped curtains!
