Cursing/Abusive Language?

Re: Cursing/Abusive Language?

:hehe: yea same here…if i ever say the word “stupid” in front of my mom to anyone or anything…she gives me this dirty look. When i was a kid she would punish me for saying something like “shut up” to anyone especially my sisters. :bummer:

Now it’s such a habit for me NOT to curse…that i cant stand even hearing it let alone use it.

Re: Cursing/Abusive Language?

actually swearing is usually just self-therapeutic, don't take it personally

Re: Cursing/Abusive Language?

Yes, Cursing is such a turn off in girls and guys..
I remember when we were young if someone said idiot, moron or something we'd all be like aaaawwww you said a bad word, I'm telling DAD..

I might say Hell, Dam*it, or Sh*T when i'm really frustrated.. & I do get in trouble if my father hears me hehe I just never liked to associate with ppl who curse caz you definitely pick it up & it looks bad..

Re: Cursing/Abusive Language?

I dont curse and what usually works for me is that when someone infront of me curses I just make this face and most of the time they get the hint and will ask me if I mind that they curse. I just tell them that I myself dont curse and usually they will try to control themselves infront of me or apologize if they do curse.

Re: Cursing/Abusive Language?

You said it here again and it did not get removed!!

Re: Cursing/Abusive Language?

Then next time better do the therapy in front of a mirror.

Re: Cursing/Abusive Language?

hay it releases the stress... if it wasnt for the swear words, id break my own head! :D I curse a lot at myself...

Lets make one thing clear... I do curse... I do curse when i'm angry at myself.... I dont curse at anyone else when I'm angry.

With friends its different. :D

Re: Cursing/Abusive Language?

yeah I guess it’s different with mates but I get slated for saying stuff like ‘crap’ and ‘damn’ in my house.

Re: Cursing/Abusive Language?

Don't hurt me anymore.....Don't hit me with your words..... Don't hurt me with your long silences ......don't hurt by turning your head away from me.... Don't hurt me that way anymore.... Constant bad language scars the heart and damages the soul....it is designed to make the person feel guilty...

Solution: it's up to the PERSON to stand on their own two feet , take their life in their own hands, to bear this and work with it. NOBODY else can do that for you. If someone do it for you, it wouldn't do you any good.

Re: Cursing/Abusive Language?

what about american people…do you think they don’t curse. CEO’s, directors,
SVPs, VPs, SPMs, PMs…all cursed..c’mon don’t blame one paritcular nation.

Re: Cursing/Abusive Language?

(From religious point of view) …this story is good and says a lot…

"Profit Mahammed (pbuh) was a very pious man, but he was not very attractive looking. One day, he was walking along the road, minding his own business, when a lady came up to him, and started calling him names and abusing him. This lady kept saying all kinds of nasty things, and Mahmud (pbuh)just listened to her patiently. Finally, when she was finished calling him names and abusing him, Mahmud just greeted her, smiled, and said “and a nice day to you,” and continued on his way. Why did Mahmud(pbuh), the pious man, behave this way? It is because he knew that everything she said was just a reflection of her own inner self. If you use bad language, you are just making obvious to everybody how far away you really are from Allah, since your words are in reality a reflection of your own inner self. "

Re: Cursing/Abusive Language?

Aiesha, I've read that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was attractive (Mash'Allah). But thats another topic.

Re: Cursing/Abusive Language?

Yes, Munni I also was surprise to read that Profit Mohammed (pbuh) was attractive, but I don't know that website says that he was not....

Re: Cursing/Abusive Language?

Maybe if you tell them that you find it hurtful and upsetting, that might clue them in.

I'm not sure if my advice will help because my friends and family don't swear in everyday conversations...
