everytime mom cooks n i go to the kitchen .. it gets in my clothes .. any tips to remove the smell quickly?!

leave the window open so the smell doesnt stay in the house

no, but thats good as well
but we have an exhaust fan it helps

Avoid the kitchen and keep your room door closed.

Agarbatti.

dont think that I am mad right away. Try it and when it doesnt work.....

BTW I am not sure myself if it will work, but theoratically speaking it must work

xara, our appartment is really small.,, so even if the windows r open and exhaust fan is on.. it still doesnt do much.

i have tried scented candles .. lekin it doesnt make all that difference.. but better than nothing.
mamba, havent used agarbatti yet.. will try those :) thanks.

best bet....leave the windows open ..and put a fan facing outwards..soo it blows all the inhouse smell outside... and open all the exhaust including the washroom etc......... personaly i never cook food with good clothes on, alwayz wear clothes which u wont go outside with..and keep all ur living room closets closed including ur own rooms door closed....... and if still all of these tips dont work, then ....just get "take out" food

like shahreen said a kitchen extractor it’ll work for sure :k:

open window, or back door if its near kitchen, air freshner, agarbatti, the exhaust fan does work its 1 of the best options availabe

use this link and scroll down to odor control filters. they are a bit pricey but work like a charm. even on desi spices.

The strongest odor is that of frying onions. Ask your mom to use pre-fried onions (easily available at your local Pakistani grocery shop).

One of the reasons I don't mind cooking is the availability of these already fried onions.

Also, spend some money on air-tight jars and store away the spices in 'em. This will prevent your pantry/cabinet smelling like a spice mill.

Agarbattis are a stink themselves. You would have to use something to get rid of the agarbatti stench later. Fraudiya's filters sound good.

My mother ususally keeps all the windows open and fans going while she's cooking. Towards the end of cooking, she puts some vinegar in a little pot and boils it. The smell gets rid of all the curry odour really fast and it does not even leave a lingering scent of vinegar. You only have to boil it for maybe 10-15 minutes. Not really boil ... but heat it up. It works.

^ oh that’s a great idea :ahaa: i should’ve thought of it before. i wash my bartan/dishes with vinegar or coffee to get rid of the smell… so yea, that would probably work great..

suroor, i open up the kitchen window and the terrace door, and make sure my bedroom door is tightly shut so the smell doesn’t get into my clothes.

agarbattis aren’t a stink by all means  , they create a really nice long lasting aroma well the ones we get do anywayz it does work try em’ …
