Just got back from Malakand area, after staying there for more than a month what I observed and got feed back from local people and local politicions, here is the summary:
The so called Taliban of Malkand( Dir, Swat and Bunir) were fully supported by Jumaat-i-Islami. Jumaat workers were fully involed in killing and beheading of innocent people and security personals.
The ANP government deployed Shia soldiers(enemies of Jumaat-i-islami) to Malakand to deal with the Jumaat and the result they were brutally killed and even throwned from the helicopters.
So far the soldiers are dealing the with the lower brass of Jumaat, they are arresting them and putting them in Jail but now gradually they are also arresting the lower leadership and it looks like soon they will start arresting the upper leadership of Jummat in the Malakand area.
The provincial government with the help of NGOs and USAID providing jobs to the young people and it looks like people are becoming more and more pro Americans as more and more jobs coming in.
No chance for Taliban or Jumaat in Malakand area if more and more jobs starts comming into the area.

Please avoid associating sectarianism to Pak army. Had you looked up the names, you will find that the jawans and officers killed reflect both Sunnis and Shias.
This is the same type of accusation and rumor that was carelessly thrown around by even the pro-Pak journalists during the @rse-whooping of the lal musjid Mullahs.
We should not let ourselves behave like primitive Arab tribals and divide our military and police into Shia Sunni cr@p. If we don't learn the lesson and start dividing our soldiers along sectarian lines, we as a nation will suffer like Iraqis and Afghanis.

Jamat Islami in particular and Islamists in general are the trojan horse for our country.
These traitors are destroying our defenses from within and killing our soldiers and civilians and burning down our future! the schools and government buildings.
It is time to arrest all the JI bigwigs and send them to the gulags in the deserts of Balochistan with no food and water and let them die in the hellish summers.
Finally some good news . JI is no more the same as it use to be like 20 years back . Too much radicalization and politicization involved . People who know IJT must have firsthand accounts of their mentality .
I do not think such uneducated statements and biased approach could give some positive contribution to the prevailing situations in Pakistan.

What I know about JI is , they are the Only Democratic Islamic Party in Pakistan and the only Cridit In pakistan Goes to JI who has Most Educated Workers among the Political Parties in Pakistan.

JI may be a democratic party but the realty is that JI is also a Terrorist organization. They have terrorist camps in Hazara, training innocent children and men to be used for terrorist activities across the globe. Rest assured soon their leadership along with their sponsors Hamid Gul and company will be hanged in front of GHQ. You are right there are sunnis soldiers deployed as well but the one who interrogate the Taliban are mostly shais.

Not to mention that if you been to Punjab University and other engineering schools in Pakistan, you will find Jamiyaat being the most terrorizing organization. I think they have the most weaponary than any other student organization. I witness them attacking our campus and beating up teachers. They are the same people who were beating up poor Imran khan.

Care to elaborate what kind of jobs are 'coming in'? Any concrete numbers on how many jobs were actually created?

The majority jobs are security related like police etc. People with high school gets the uniformed police jobs but people with less education or no education gets hired for village security, they are responsible the security of the village to keep an eye on who comes and goes to the village. The village security people belong to the same village that they responsible for, usually for the population of 500 there are 10 village security personel. Other than that they have created jobs in hospitals and education and women affairs, they are providing free tutoring, computer education etc.
Kerry-Luggar bill (1.5 billion annually for 5 years) is meant to be spent on NWFP and FATA, I don't know why people are opposing this bill specially JI.

I don't know where in Kerry-Lugar bill it says that the money is to be spent on NWFP/FATA people only. You need to understand the baggage this bill carries to know why people are opposing it. BTW its not just JI opposing it ;)

I know about Punjab University , where Only Jamiat is actively present , no other student wing is present there.
That is why there is 100% peace , parants are sending their Daughters to PU and UET Lahore with out any fear.

Good you attest JI is Democratic Party in Pakistan, more example you can see in my above post.
You should be aware that they support Morally , Politically Hazb ul mujahadin stand on Kashmir issue.

However I don't agree with you that we ANP had anything to do with the military operation. It's wrong to divide our armed forces in the name of secretarian relgious orientation.
