It's kinda like some asian parents like to keep their kids under their wing and command for as long as possible, which can be quite long, and the consequences of that are often that children lack self-esteem and confidence. Not all, but some. Especially the newly arrived immigrant families.

You mean like muslim parents controlling their daughters , then their daughters become controlled by a man when they marry, specifically Saudi Arabia. At least Asian children can interact amongst the sexes and the females aren't denied education, work and driving and walking or even biking or motorbiking amongst the population where ever they may reside.
