curious mind

…makes me wonder sometimes and i am starting this thread to get some religious islamic knowledge in regards to why everyone in the world is different skin color, races etc.. If we all are adam and eve’s children, then why are there blacks, whites, browns, chinese, russians, native indians etc…? and dont tell me the ppl in africa are black cuz they live in a hot country! so lets hear what u gotta say!

Re: curious mind

not only the skin color is different but the bone structure and gentically these r different races.

i doubt you will get any proveable reply on this.

Re: curious mind

That is because such is the Will of Allah (SWT).

Here's a verse that I believe is relevant to your query.
49:13 O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things).
I'll try to post its tafsir sometime soon, insha'Allah.

Re: curious mind

Asalaamualaikum
In the holy Quran in chapter 49 ayah 13 Allah says:
"O mankind!we have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes that you may know one another.verily the most honourable of you with Allah is that who has at-taqwa.verily Allah is all knowing all aware."
This ayah adresses all of the humanity and not just the Muslim community. All humankind has descended from the first couple,Adam and Eve.Thier tribes, races and nations are conventional labels by wich we may know thier differing characteristics. Before Allah they are all one and the most rightous is the most honourable.
The unity of the creator wich leads us to the essential equality of the humankind and the common origin of the entire human race in the primordial pair of Adam and Eve,wich leads us to the idea of universal brotherhood.

Re: curious mind

is the answer?

i mean thats it?

i fail to see the answer for the question asked, in the verse you have mentioned. please clarify...

Re: curious mind

Where you live and what you eat causes human being developing differently. It doesn't happen in 2-3 generations, rather centuries.

Re: curious mind

to light bearer
have you ever seen kittens?have you noticed that they are from one mother(female cat)and one father(male cat) yet every child(kitten)have a different colour, pattern and habits.I will try to seek about the genetics science on web inshaAllah

Re: curious mind

thanx i will be waiting.:)

Re: curious mind

well from when i remember in my evolution class (barely remember, mind you)...skin colour has to do with the sunlight...the more darker skinned person has more melatoma (i think thats the word) to protect them from the sun's heat and light...which is why pple who live near the eqautor area are more dark skinned that pple who live away from the equator (europe)...if the whole world lived in one place and it was same living conditions for everyone, then most likely we woudl all be the same skin colour....

as for asian eyes..not sure where that came from...

Re: curious mind

Peace and salutations to all … about races from Adam (AS) …

BismillahirRahmaniRaheem
There is nothing in genetic science that categorically detemines whether skin colour, skull shape, eye shape or eye colour can or cannot be from a common source. In fact according to the evolutionary theory every human can still have come from a common source.

The question is itself misleading … we should understand that humans have come from a number of tribes and those tribes carry characteristics which effect the way they look. We can see this at a smaller degree within our own families … you just need to look at your cousins and realise this.

The scientific explanation of how all humans an be genetically related does not lie with the location as this does not effect the genes in the slightest. Well not directly anyway … We have to consider the prophet Adam (AS) as a person with all the genetic information intact. In other words in order for him to be our common ancestor he must have been black or very dark skinned. In fact the amazing connotation here is that Arabic word Adam has a reflexive meaning which means black and huwa is deep brown.

The varying degrees of colour are the level of absence in their pigmentation from the complete standard of Adam (AS) and Eve (AS). So next time you think it’s great to be white … think about the first people! In fact, it is great to be of any race and colour … to answer the question … really all the genetic information was present in the body of Adam (AS) and through centuries of tribes began to develop characteristics which means their genes are all the same but certain codons and active groups in the genes are switched on or off depending on whether they are required or not … :hoonh:

Re: curious mind

:hmmm: do I see someone contradicting himself here?

For other part:

don’t tell me you are going into “chicken or egg” confusion… where did those “tribes” come from?

Re: curious mind

The word actually is Melanoma, which means tumor of melanin ( which has nothing to do with on hand topic). Now melanin is secreted by the cells called Melanocytes. The function of melanin is it gives of the dark pigment. The more granules are made up by the melanocytes the darker your skin will be and yes it will protect you from the sun's heat and light.

From what someone told me, I know that Adam was made from all different types of clay...I am still questionin' that since I didn't get to see any sort of reference related to it. So, if anyone knows please feel free to correct me or add on to it.

Re: curious mind

Having taken anatomy, I have found that there are several differences in simply being male and female. And the differences from one man to another man can be many as well. And yet with all those differences, we somehow all work in pretty much the same way.

Re: curious mind

^ and How does it answers Islamically?
