Culture has three important elements.
Values, norms and artifacts.
Values and norms you get from religion, parents or the environment you live in. You also have your own opinion and decision but most of it is inspired by religion.
If Religion is the highway, culture is the direction without it you don't know where you going. Right?
I think without it you are confused. Moreover it changes with the society but most the values and family norms stay behind.
