Lets share some songs that depicts culture of particular area and discuss our experience with Customs, clothes, jewelry, etc shown in such videos.
ZARINA BALOCH HATHEN GUL MEHANDI PEREN GUL MEHANDI | Tune.pk
Traditional Sindhi Mehndi song. Look at the simple design. A circle in the centre of hand. In our childhood, we saw our Ammi making such circles on her and sisters hands on Eid, etc. That was the time, when ‘Cone Mehndi’ was not common and girls were not running behind the designs.
That Peengha (jhoola) shown in the video was present in almost all homes in Sindh having some space. We do have a Peengha in our waranda and our dadi used to stock onions on floor under the peengha.
That matka being used as dhol was also common. I remember weeks before wedding, girls used to arrange 5 Kg Dalda dibba and keep on playing that as a dhol.
The bride is wearing a tika on her forehead with a taj like thing. My sister says its called ‘saroon’ in Sindhi. Now, simple tika is only worn on wedding day and its almost out of fashion now.
The singer is wearing ‘chunri design’, which was quite popular in Sindh. Again my sister says that its still in fashion but new prints are quite different from traditional Chunri designs.
