Personally i doubt if this resolution can ever pass! China and USA are an easy veto contenders. My only problem is when the anchor says “How dare these people attempt such a thing”. We have come to this point in history because USA and Israel have always considered themselves above UN. Who cares about UN resolutions anyways?
Pakistan with its abysmal human rights record is leading this resolution. That's even phunnier. hahhah.
Seriously, we have maltreated our minorities in a way that should shame us for the next 100 years. And yet many of us keep on singing Islamists tunes and not raise an eyebrow when Ahmadis, Shias, Christians, and Hindus are harassed, accused, imprisoned, and in some cases murdered just because some Mullah somewhere had a dream that the accused was blaspheming. Pathetic. simply pathetic.
Re: Crucial Step Towards Sharia Law? U.N. Anti Blasphemy Resolution
^You should tell the Pakistan Govt to withdraw the constitutional article that labels Qadiyanis as non-muslim. But you can't, why? Because it's the law. Deal with it. :)
Denial of holocaust can be regarded a punishable crime but insulting a religion can't be, funny indeed.
........
This is not a good comparison. Jewish people have been at the receiving end of so-called "Blasphemy laws"for centuries.
We can learn about their historical plight if and when we'd ever perform an honest analysis of such heinous medieval laws from their application in Pakistan.
Did this ever occur to anyone on this forum how a minority christian or Ahmadi feels when a police walah can lock him for good just because a Mullah had a bad dream the previous night?
Such laws are so terrible that majority Sunnis never realize the ferocity of their dimwit application. That's why Pakistani Sunnis continue living in la la land.
