The lady at the post office doing the passports told us that we can use our daughter’s birth certificate as a document to enter US at the US/Canada border. Is this true?
Yes. At least it was after 9/11. Don't know if they changed the rules since then.
yes, u can. they ask for your proof of citizenship. which includes a birth certificate.

I will be going to toronto tomorrow from Detroit/Windsor border crossing. This is a work-related 2-day trip tho.
How thoughtful of you. Just remember to keep it on at all times, and we will sit a mile away from you, that’s if it ever comes to that. Otherwise, please have my gifts fedexed over, I will get someone to disinfect them. ![]()

have fun :D
If you are going to Toronto, don't forget to go to Gerard Street. Bahot mashhoor desi mohhala hai wahanka.
AJ: Heres the quick way to complete your trip of Toronto fast. go to CN tower and look in four directions. You should by now have seen all of Canada almost :). Come down and buy burger in the Big Mac at the bottom of CN tower (just so you dont forget your american roots :)). Feel cold air from lake and thank god for warmer countries. Drive to missisagua and locate twin towers. Take elevator to top floor and you should now be able to see any part of Canada you had missed from the CN tower. You are now done with your tour, so take the first road leading south and come back home :).
Amazing aint it, the first think you see when you visit the CN tower is a MacDonalds joint.
Alternative tours of Toronto include taking the trolley tour and checking out Younge Street and Caste Loma. In between don't forget to exchange some US$ for some loonies and toonies. However due to the exchange rates, you may need to carry a forklift to move all the cash :D.

hmcq, I have been thinking about it and it seems the trip to Canada will be more about meeting family & friends than about looking around as there is not much around.
