Re: >>> Cross Country Tour of the US <<<

For you LA and San Francisco trip, you should drive from LA to San Francisco along coastal highway 1 (101 in parts). This is amazingly beautiful coastal highway. You can plan stops at San Luis Obispo, Hearst Castle, Carmel, Pebble Beach, Monterey, Half Moon Bay.
Once in San Francisco you must drive to Yosemite National Park (about 3-4 hours drive) and Lake Tahoe (4 hrs). You should also eat at Shalimar Restaurant (one in Fremont) for some amazing tikka/kababs. You can also eat at a beautiful restaurant called Moss Beach Distillery (it's assumed to be a haunted place) that is right at Pacific ocean shore.
You can also visit Redwood Forests 4-5 hours North of San Francisco. Another interesting place is Napa Valley.
I am sure Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and Crooked Street (Lombard Street) are most common tourist attractions of San Francisco City.

Re: >>> Cross Country Tour of the US <<<

**Any suggestions if someone isn't gonna be going there to gamble or a drive thru wedding ??? **

Re: >>> Cross Country Tour of the US <<<

heyloooooooooooooooooooooooooo koi haiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii :aj:

i need info ASAP people :emmy:

West Coast walooonn jaagooooo :crying:

I visited Las Vegas last summer for like 10 days.. it was fun all over.. a lot of good places to see.. the whole 'STRIP' has a lot of places to go. like Bellagio, New York, and a lot more... you will find a lot of magazine/brochures on the walkways along the strip which will contain all the necessary information and coupons for discounts for restaurants and various shows and attractions. That was really handy.. we saved lot of bucks through them.

Do try the buffet at Circus Circus... Circus Circus is at the far end of the strip.. The buffet dinner/lunch had like the biggest cuisine of sea food and their sweets/desserts are just marvelous.
Also Circus Circus has a nice amusement park.

If you have any plans for East Coast, then do let me know.. I'll tell you more..

Re: >>> Cross Country Tour of the US <<<

Thx CB…i’ll definitely try the buffet !

I am planning an East Coast trip including New York , D.C , Boston and Niagara Falls . So any info on these places would be highly appreciated !

Thanks :hugz:

Re: >>> Cross Country Tour of the US <<<

Tell me about Boston .... I might be there for a day so which places are a must see ?

America’s Byways: National Scenic Byways Online

If you do rent a car, this site has all the scenic byway routes.

Ive traveled on some in Penn & OH. The Ohio Amish byway was very memorable & most routes that have native American heritage sites r also worth traveling thru. Anyhow the site has scenic routes organized by state.

What kind of places you like… historical or like some other places,… boston is like mix of all for all tastes..

The freedom trail is good start, then a tour of charles river, which can also be done through Boston Duck Tours, which like amphibious vehicles, which moves around whole of Boston, and then takes a dip in the Charles River as well.

Fanueil Hall and Quincy Market are good… Alongwith many of the Museum and Aquariums.

The whole longwood area is famous for Harvard MIT and a lot of other colleges/universities.

The famous reflecting pool is good as well.. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3e/USA_09562_Boston_Luca_Galuzzi_2007.jpg
Btw all these places are very near to each other and all are acessible by Subways , known as the T.
See this site as well. Boston
