Re: Crockery items help
If you’re talking kitchen items in general, the basics include include cooking utensils (pots, pans, pressure cooker, karahi, tawa, spoons, ladles, etc.), serving spoons, serving dishes, tupperware containers, knives set, drinking glasses, kitchen towels, oven mitts, coffeemaker and/or electric kettle (as needed). As eastern said, it’s a good idea to get two dinner sets (quarter plates, dinner plates, saucers, cups, etc.), but also two sets for cutlery. I have a 20 piece cutlery set for home use and a bigger (100+ pieces) set for use when having a party. My mom also gave me a set of pyrex serving/storage dishes, another set of anchor serving dishes, some fancy dishes, toaster, a counter top toaster oven, a tortilla maker, a blender, a chopper, and a coffee grinder (for spices).
I also ended up buying the following for myself: kitchen aid multipurpose mixer, sandwich/waffle maker, a slow cooker, a george foreman grill, a small barbeque.
Obviously, you don’t have to bring all of this as your jahez. Pick and chose based on your wants and needs. The rest can always be bought later. I ended up buying a lot of other stuff as well since we were moving into a new place on our own and had nothing to speak of (also, I’m a bit of a hoarder), but if you’re moving in with in-laws you can probably skip a lot of the things I mentioned.
Good luck and congrats on your impending nuptials! ![]()
