Crochet/ Cloth Tablemats and cup mats

So I have seen some really beautiful Crochet Tablemats and Cup mats and they are really expensive as well …

Question is how to people protect them against food stains? specially the Cup mats .. even the usual plastic ones take a minute to get the stains on from the cup and need washing at least once a day …

I was really inclined to buy this set of four Crochet table and cup mats and then just held myself thinking these may just be beautifying objects with no real use :hinna:

Would you buy cloth/crochet mats? how would you maintain them ?

coasters are always a problem…you can never really get the stain of coffee and tea out…we gave up on fabric ones and have metal and glass ones now.

for place mats…knowing the time and effort that goes into making these, I wouldn’t get them unless I can put a glass place mat over them.

hmm .. thanks Muzna.. i thought so too ..

A friend once gifted me embroidered cup mats and within a week of use they were all stained up and looked horrible .. I was so distraught having lost a valuable gift from a friend, now I use glass ones

but i saw people buying those crochet ones so happily and was seriously wondering if its me only who doesnt know how to protect them against stains :hinna:

i think if they are white u can use bleach them..
