Criteria for a topic to be "pointless" or "making sense"

The intention is not to offend anyone or judge, but to learn, what according to the sincere feeling and thinking of everyone here, can be a widely accepted way of improving the quality of threads in Gupshup cafe.

Question: What according to you is the definition of a “Pointless” thread ?

Do you think threads in the gupshup cafe which are “too random” and without an specific point effects the quality of that section and makes it boring for a new user ?

For example. If a new user visits the gupshup cafe and click on a thread, but keep wondering of the reason for which that thread was started or he thinks that the thread starter could have conveyed the point through pm instead of making a whole thread about it ? Ofcourse, the section is for gupshup, but do you think there need to be some standard to maintain, like gupshup about something useful or thoughful related to daily life experiences…

The purpose of this thread is not to judge or offend anyone but share and learn views of different people. Also I don’t intend to convey that the standard of Gupshup cafe is not good, it is just a topic for seeking improvements. Kindly forgive me if any one feels offended as the intentions were not to point out or blame anyone.

Thanks:)

Re: Criteria for a topic to be "pointless" or "making sense"

this thread is pointless... so all other threads like this can be considered pointless :D

ok i was kidding...
brother, i think most new users quite like the chit chat that goes on in the cafe. In the past few days, i have seen about 3 new guppies introducing themselves in cafe and enjoying the subsequent chit chat that went on. And they seem to have stuck around in cafe as well, as they are posting in other such threads quite regularly.
