NOTE: Lets not get into colors here

Re: Crimes of US soldiers in Iraq

you forgot how the insurgents brutally murdered two US soldiers and how they have murdered thousands of kidnapped iraqis and foriegners

and jessica lynch was kidnapped by saadam's army not the insurgents

Re: Crimes of US soldiers in Iraq

And that could well have been a revenge attack for the rape.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/5142852.stm

Another affidavit said Mr Green, who belonged to the 101st Airborne Division, had been discharged from the army “due to a personality disorder” before the rape and killings were known about.

Some of the suspects belong to the Division’s 502nd Infantry Regiment, the same unit as two soldiers kidnapped, tortured and killed by insurgents south of Baghdad last month.

Re: Crimes of US soldiers in Iraq

That’s because they deserved every second of it. Remember who illegally attacked who. The US started an illegal war (terrorist attack), they’ll have to face the consequences. It’s a shame more US terrorists aren’t killed in such a manner.

Re: Crimes of US soldiers in Iraq

the rape allegations were made public after the kidnapping of the two soldiers

Re: Crimes of US soldiers in Iraq

I did not support the war and I am glad USA has had a tough time in Iraq because the American public now knows that invading other countries is a gargantuan task and should be undertaken only at the most extreme cases and done with the world backing.

As for the current status in Iraq. I want what is best for the Iraqi people. Insurgents running Iraq will be a disaster for Iraq so the only alternate is to allow this US backed Iraqi government to succeed.

And enjoying over the deaths of others like Fret you are doing is Against Islam.

But I am pretty sure you are going to bend Islamic law to suit your purpose just like the Insurgent terrorists do Iraq.

Re: Crimes of US soldiers in Iraq

lol you're dumber than i thought..do u think those insurgents look at CNN to get the latest news abt troops brutality?

Re: Crimes of US soldiers in Iraq

.........

Re: Crimes of US soldiers in Iraq

Since when is the slaughter of tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi’s “best for the Iraqi People”? You’re sounding more and more like the monkey in Washington.

And so is supporting the enemy against your Muslim brothers and sisters, like you’re doing.

There’s nothing wrong with enjoying the death of murderers, rapists and terrorists. I truly enjoy the death of an American soldier.

I call it an eye for an eye.

Re: Crimes of US soldiers in Iraq

lussi, it was mad scientist who said that the soldiers were kidnapped by the insurgents to avenge the death of the girl who was raped.....

please refrain from these kinds of commnets in the future

Re: Crimes of US soldiers in Iraq

exactly it is not. these kinds of killings will go on as long as the insurgents still have people who support them. look at the algerian civil war in the 1990's when 100,000-200,000 people died in the brutal campaign waged by the islamic militants there.

What part of my opposition to the Iraq war did you not understand?

I never supported this war but now that the war has happened, its now time to think what is best for the Iraqi People.

Well I enjoy the death of every Iraqi Terrorist Insurgent.

Besides this. Can you please tell me as how Iraq should be fixed?

Re: Crimes of US soldiers in Iraq

How about

  1. An independent commission determining the cost to fix all damage done to the country by the USA so that the USA can repair all damage done by them by the illegal invasion of a foreign country

  2. The Muslim nations get together and appoint a group of people to assist the currect government in getting the country on track and hold new elections (without USA input)

  3. The USA pull out ASAP

  4. The USA hand over any military/civilian person requested for court hearings into atrocities done in Iraq by an judicial enquiry

I think above would be a start…

Crimes of US soldiers/ America Bringing Freedom to Iraq (merged)

Looks like the US is using all kinds of new and inventive ways to bring freedom, justice and liberty to opressed people all over the 3rd world… look for example at the approach taken by these US soldiers… good job fellas.

5 U.S. troops in Iraq suspected of rape
By RYAN LENZ
ASSOCIATED PRESS

BEIJI, Iraq -- While on patrol, a group of American soldiers in an insurgent-riddled town allegedly noticed a young Iraqi woman. Later, they returned to rape her, U.S. officials said Friday.

In an apparent cover-up attempt, the woman and three members of her family were killed, and her body was set on fire.

Five U.S. troops are being investigated, a U.S. military official said. It was the sixth known inquiry into alleged slayings of Iraqi civilians by U.S. troops.
The suspects in the killing, which took place in March, were from the same platoon as two soldiers kidnapped and killed south of Baghdad this month, said the official, who is close to the investigation and spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the case.
One soldier was arrested after admitting his role in the alleged attack on the family, the U.S. official said. The official said the rape and killings appear to have been a “crime of opportunity,” noting that the soldiers had not been attacked by insurgents but had noticed the woman on previous patrols.
One of the family members they allegedly killed was a child, said a senior Army official who also requested anonymity because the investigation is continuing. Some of the suspects allegedly burned the woman’s body to cover up the attack, the U.S. official said.
In Baghdad, the U.S. military issued a short statement, saying only that Maj. Gen. James D. Thurman, commander of the 4th Infantry Division, ordered a criminal investigation into the alleged slaying of a family of four in Mahmoudiya, 20 miles south of Baghdad.
However, the U.S. official said the soldiers were assigned to the 502nd Infantry Regiment. The official told the AP that the suspects were from the same platoon as two slain soldiers whose mutilated bodies were found June 19, three days after they were abducted by insurgents near Youssifiyah southwest of Baghdad.
Feelings of guilt
The military has said one and possibly both of the slain soldiers were tortured and beheaded. The official said the mutilation of the slain soldiers stirred feelings of guilt and led at least one member of the platoon to reveal the rape-slaying on June 22.
According to the senior Army official, the alleged incident was first revealed by a soldier during a routine counseling-type session. The official said that soldier did not witness the incident but had heard about it.
A second soldier, who also was not involved, said he overhead soldiers conspiring to commit the crimes and then later saw bloodstains on their clothes, the official said.
Before the soldier disclosed the alleged assault, senior officers had been aware of the family’s death but believed it was a result of sectarian violence, the official said.
One of the five suspects has already been discharged for unspecified charges unrelated to the killings and is believed to be in the United States, two U.S. officials said on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing. The weapons of others were taken away and they are confined to a U.S. base near Mahmoudiya.
The allegations of rape could generate a particularly strong backlash in Iraq, a conservative, strongly religious society in which many women will not even shake hands with men who are not close relatives.
14 soldiers convicted
The case is among the most serious against U.S. soldiers allegedly involved in the deaths of Iraqi civilians. At least 14 U.S. troops have been convicted.
Last week, seven Marines and one Navy medic were charged with premeditated murder in the shooting death of an Iraqi man near Fallujah west of Baghdad.
U.S. officials are also investigating allegations that U.S. Marines killed two dozen unarmed Iraqi civilians Nov. 19 in the western town of Haditha in a revenge attack after a fellow Marine died in a roadside bombing.
Other cases involve the deaths of three male detainees in Salahuddin province in May, the shooting death of an unarmed Iraqi man near Ramadi in February, and the death of an Iraqi soldier after an interrogation in 2003 at a detention camp in Qaim.
The allegations have aroused public anger against the U.S. military presence at a time when the new Iraqi government and U.S. authorities are trying to reach out to disaffected Sunni Arabs to quell the insurgency and calm sectarian tensions.
Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki leaves today for a whirlwind trip to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates to seek support for his national reconciliation initiative, which includes an amnesty for the mostly Sunni insurgents.
Al-Maliki is also expected to brief the Sunni leadership of those three countries on his efforts to deal with the divisions between Shiites and Sunnis. Iraq’s neighbors in the Persian Gulf fear sectarian tensions will spill over into their countries, which are dominated by Sunnis but have large Shiite minorities.
On Friday, radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr rejected al-Maliki’s initiative because it does not include a timetable for the withdrawal of U.S.-led foreign troops.
“We demand the occupation forces to leave the country, or at least a timetable should be set for their withdrawal,” al-Sadr said during a sermon.
Despite al-Maliki’s efforts, there has been no letup in Iraq’s violence. The U.S. military reported four more American service members have died, including a Marine killed Friday in fighting west of Baghdad.
Three Army soldiers died in combat the day before, the military said.

so according to your logic, I can make the assertion that all arabs and muslims are terrorists after 9/11?

Re: Crimes of US soldiers in Iraq

Do you know what triggered the Algerian civil war?
http://www.britannica.com/eb/article-220556

How can Americans know what is best for the Iraqi people?

You’re brainwashed by the media, technically there is no such thing as an “Iraqi Terrorist Insurgent”. Why? Simply cuz the US invasion of Iraq was illegal, that makes every American soldier in Iraq, a “terrorist”, thus, every Iraqi fighting the US and its allies, is a freedom fighter.

The current governments in Iraq and Afghanistan, cannot restore law and order without American support. In other words, the situation will only worsen with each passing day, if the US decides to stay in these countries.

Also, your using the metaphor on Algerian civil war, is absurd in this scenario, cuz, the Algerian Civil War started after the secular Algerian Army canceled the elections, in which the practicing Muslims won by a landslide. The current Iraqi situation cannot be compared with the one in Algeria, since its natural for human beings to fight someone who has unjustly invaded their country. Also both of these situations reiterate one thing, injustice breeds violence, and in both of these scenarios, the sides that you support are clearly in the wrong.

5 more civilized people on a mission to spread “freedom” caught in the act in Irak

There you go, more educated westerners caught in the act, while bringing “freedom and civilization” to the “uncivilized barbaric” natives in Irak.

Re: 5 more civilized people on a mission to spread "freedom" caught in the act in Irak

This is an isolated incident - we cannot generalize
99.78% of the US Army is doing a fine job of liberating the iraqi people building roads, schools etc etc.

And we must not conclude anything unless it has been properly investigated. Maybe these gentlemen were mentally disturbed and committed this act without knowing what they were doing. In that case we must sympathize with them, maybe even send some flowers to their families.

Once they realize what they have done I am sure they will apologize.
Chapter closed...

The long periods of stay inside the iraqi territory is taking its toll :(
