Is it a myth that Pakistanis support India if Pakistan is out of a tournament OR Indians support Pakistan if India is out of a tournament?. Meaning, the second-favourite is Pakistan for the Indians and India for the Pakistanis.
I for one, have some favourite Indian players on my list but I really never want India to win any match no matter who the opponent is. Am I the only one? because I keep hearing that let’s bring the trophy to the subcontinent regardless of who wins. To me if Pakistan can’t win, the ONLY other team that may win is Sri Lanka.
Well you are not alone. Almost every other Pakistani had the same feeling. :). Cant say about other Indians, But I was really glad when Imran Khan brought that trophy back to the subcontinent after the Aussie took it from us in 1987.
In 1996 watching Ranatunga lift the trophy was another site I will always cherish. It was a befitting reply to the Kangaroos after they refused to tour Sri Lanka.
No way I would ever support India, I admire the talent they have in the team and I love to watch Tendulkar, Sehwag and Ganguly bat but no way I will ever support them.
Same here Umair…I like watching Tendie and muslim players in the team. but its a no no :nono: for India’s win.
In my black list… I have Kapil Dev, Srinath, Kumble and Mongia (92 WC keeper) for their attitude problem. Same as don’t like Aamir Sohail for his attitude…even though in my opinion he is the most stylish batsman pakistan ever had after Majid Khan.
Not to mention “Shame Warne”. He is the worst human being I have ever seen on the face of this earth.
I admired Gavaskar as well. Sidhu was also good, specially after when Akram hit the bouncer on his head back in early 90s. I remember how Great Khan used to give ball to Akram as soon as Sidhu comes for batting. He was scared to death of our then young pacer. :D

Smooth guy, I think you are talking about K. Srikanth. Actually Akram finished his career :)
Anyways, spock jee, pls dont generalize, I have paki friends , who support India, where pakistan is not in contest and I would love to see akram-akhtar-younis winning the cup for pakistan, if India were not there.
If there is a final between india and the Aussies PAK will support Aussies but if there is a final between Aussies and SL or Bangla, or Canada then I am sure PAK will NOT supprt the Aussies, isn’t it interesting, I think it is
