Cricket

There’s hardly any update in Religion Forum during the days of cricket matches. :smiley: {Just when I got time for discussion .\ _ /.}

On top of that I was in Imambargah and someone was reading Marsiya and all of a sudden he stopped and “Cricket kee baat na karo Pakistan harr jai ga Zikaar-e- Hussain suno… Haan.”

There was a mild laughter coz during majlis the cricket match was going on and some people were talking about it instead of listening to the speaker.

Yesterday again, the time of namaz was approaching and there were hardly any men in the mens’ side. {Again a cricket match was in progress :D} And a lady, muslim convert said to the other ladies who were present there " When the Moulana Saheb comes we’ll tell him not to worry even if no men will be here hum tou hazaar hain sunain kay liya :smiley: "

Tum logouN :smack: kaya jadoo hai cricket mein Hain :hoonh:

:mudhosh:

Cricket nikalo dimagh say :snooty:

Then I’ll say “Chakkaaaaa!!!”

Dikho aj kal Religion forum na alda ay na julda ay ;-D

I am surprised there’s no fatwa against it.

@_@

Khel kood dimaghi nash-o-numma kay liyay intehae zaroori hay. Aur agar dimagh na chalay tou hum deeni masael par ghor kaisay karengay?

So I shouldn’t have been surprised when I saw dahree alay in the spectator stands.

I think all the religion forum guppies were glued to their screens when the cricket matches were taking place (Rehman1 is an exception :D)

Due to cricket hardly anyone is replying to my Muwiya thread (just when I got time to discuss :devil: )

:bailan:

:smiley: just venting

I remember, several years ago, there was a fatwa against cricket, on the grounds that it distracts people from salah. The fatwa did not receive wide-spread acceptance in Pakistan (for obvious reasons), but I think the basic premise is correct. We should not let cricket or any other activitiy distract us from the faraidh of Islam.

In urdu, you can read it as "Faraaiz" (plural of Farz) as "duties" in english :-p

Awaain muskal urdu :p

Duties! Acha :o

Ps teray naam ka kiya matlab hai?

main ne namaz nahi parhi time per our pakistan haar gaya :bummer:
Ab har namaaz parh ke dua karoon ga

:maulvidis

yahan bhi cricket aa hi gya..........
aapne nemaz waqt pe nahin padhi isliye pakistan haar gya....yani ab aap namaz pakistan ke jeetne ke liye padhenge ;) .Khair isi bahane namaz to waqt pe padh hi lenge........see cricket doesn't distract from salah ...... it actuallypromotes them to be on salah :D

^ :D

Let's see who wins today and who misses salah today :p

Actually I don't have anything against cricket.

I remember when I was a young boy I loved to play chess. My Grandmother (Daddi Jaan) used to tell me stop playing that game, "ai shaitan de khel ai". I asked my father about it, this is how he explained it to me... anything that keeps you away from Namamz or for that matter any islamic farz is haram. If you keep this definition in mind, and use common sense, for example say your prayer when its time for Namaz cricket or chess is a ok. :)

Interesting Kaleem :slight_smile:

These days my mom says “ay computher nera shaitan ay” “Uth! Namaz parnay da time ay :mad: " and she always threaten to pull the plug. Where I go " Wait just 5 more minutes and I’ll be done” but ofcourse I take longer than that :bummer:

Self control and not to cross the line and fulfil our obligations I guess :slight_smile:

If you preach strict adherence to Quran and Sunnah then really there probably should be no place for watching cricket. The matches are watched by mixed crowds, many of the women don’t wear hijab, the players who we idolise don’t sport beards and some of them ‘hurt the religious feelings of the nation’ by attending fashion shows during Shaberaat according to some.

That’s why it’s quite funny to see those who insist on sticking to Quran and Sunnah in this forum posting on KK :rotfl:
