Can anyone please explain why curling (where ppl with brooms run before a 42 pound stone) is a part of the Olympics and Cricket (which is loved by every one is five people of the world ) isnt?
some one…anyone?
If truth is knowledge, knowledge is power, and power corrupts, then are
all the liars in the world really the good guys?..*
umm...someone mentioned that the no. of countries that play the sport internationally is one factor that determines wether it'll be in the olympics or not...another factor might be the time it takes to complete a game...
If I'm dreaming, never let me wake. If I'm awake, never let me sleep.
A single match of Cricket takes as much as the whole day...and not every country has the facilities/grounds to play cricket...but the biggest factor is the amount of time it takes

Very right.. but Cricinfo has had private meetings with the IOC and discussed this matter with them.
Come on... Softball is in the olympics!
You guys are right, it's the time it takes the game to compete, because the country factor means nothing. A lot of African countries play it, Asian countries, Canada/USA, European countries are very fond of cricket, the only place it's not popular is South America.
But I'm sure they could change the rules of Cricket a little for the olympics. They changed the rules of Soccer for the olympics, by making it only 21 years and under. Also there was a selection of which countries could compete.
What would you guys think is some suggestion for the change of Cricket for only the Olympics so it may be added?
Well, Baseball is now an Olympics sport. Cricket can also become one when England or any other country where cricket is popular hosts the games (they should have made it in Sydney). Snowboarding is now an Olympic sport. Every once and again a new sport is introduced, and it wont be long before cricket is too.
It takes time to introduce and get sponsers to support to introduce a new game...Money is the biggest factor...Which worldwide Companies sponser cricket? I only know of Pepsi and Singer, thats bout it
