How prudent will it be to host international cricketers In a city where around a dozen people are ritually gunned down on daily basis? How soothing will it be to see them playing in a city where bloodshed is business-as-usual and writ of the government is only as strong as that of Hamid Karzai’s outside Kabul? Have we calculated the risk of inviting international cricketers to the 6th most dangerous city of the world?
I am not as glad over this development as I should have been. And the reason is that God forbid if anything goes wrong, the ICC will not let us play even abroad.

I have not been able to understand how our cricket board thinks it is even remotely possible to have cricket in Pakistan any time soon? An event free cricket series with the visiting teams holed up in their hotels during the night, and confined to the stadium during the day surrounded by 5000 commandos is not my idea of a sports event.

Lahore isn't safe either. Not even Rawalpindi. Sri Lankan team was attacked in Lahore and GHQ was stormed in Rawalpindi. Peshawar and Quetta are no-nos too. Faisalabad does not have the kind of facilities and security that is required for such and event.

Punjab is kinda safe now, after Shahbaz Sharif's pampering of the militants, although before that we have had attack on Srilankan team, Naval College Attack, ISI, FIA, Manawan Police training center, GHQ and now we can add Kamra to the list.
nothing is gonna happen, its World 11, not England or Australia. No body cares World 11, people will barely know when they came and left.. Militants have better stuff to do then to attack some retired cricketers.
What you should be concerned about is why is this event not being held by PCB. I mean it is a private event and Pcb has nothing to do with it. shouldt they be the one responsible for cricket in pakistan.?
kinda shocked to hear thay are planning this event in Karachi. how could one possible ignore daily target killings in Karachi. infact, few days back, there were rumours about possible attacks in Karachi by ttp.
