Cricket Quiz

Batting team needs 7 runs to win in a one-day match. They have lost 9 wickets, the last pair is at the crease and both batsmen are batting on 94 runs each after the completion of 49 overs.

However at the end of the game both batsmen complete their individual centuries.

How?

:konfused: yaar kahan kahan se laatay ho tum bhi

Thinking!

1st ball the batsmen hits 4 goes to 98, 3 runs to win
2nd ball the batsmen take 3 runs, one is called short by the umpires, the batsmen have crossed and the first one has reached his century. 1 run to win.
3rd ball the second batsmen hits a 6.

Game over.

^Exactamundo.Had the same thing in mind.

Hehe, that was too easy FG.

Second quiz in a row that hasn't made it past 2 replies. :~o

ehsan bhai got it. There are more than just one answer to this question. The rest of you can think of another scenario?

batsman 1 hit a six and is run out taking a single next and the batsman 2 is at the crease and hits a six.

There are several scenarios...

Batsman 1 hits the ball in the outfield and runs three, ball is over-thrown to the boundary...however, umpire signals one run short.
Batsman A gets six runs and reaches his century and the other end.

Batsman B hits a six off the next ball and completes his century too.

:nono: They are already 9 wickets down.

shhhhhhh, Funguy already accepted mine as fine

batsman 1 hits a six and in mean time they cross, batsman 2 hits a six for his century !

possible?

good catch, ehsan. I need coffee.

No not possible. If you hit 4 or 6 you dont cross. Captain jee kee gaal hai.

^ too much caffeine.

there is no way it acn be achieved without a short run being called and without atleast one batsman hitting a SIX to finally end the game....

mera pichhla comment kahan gaya?

i had too much of caffeine i guess :(

EDIT: ye kia ho raha hai ?????

Bat 1 hits a straight drive for a six on a 4th ball of the over for his 100 - plays 5th ball for a single called as one short run. Bat 2 plays the last ball for a Glorius 6 six to bring him to his 100 and the match in the bag/sealed/mailed,,,:p

^A single can't be called as a short run. He'd be run out in that case. :)

easy one fg. I m sure you can come up with better :-p
