i just had this thought since it takes too long to watch this game, it is one of the reason that is making our nation lazy. if we look at the most productive economies, we find that their most popuar games are the ones that take less time to play.
americas: ice hockey( canada), baseball and football(USA)
europe: soccer and rugby
those games do not take more than 3 hours. yet look at cricket, and we find that watching it takes a lot of time away from our nation and the others similarly poor like us.
sri lanka, india, pakistan, bangladesh, zimbabwe.
what do you think folks.
i knew this was bound to come. first of all, if you have ever taken statistics, there are always outliers.
as far Africa is concerned, i did not say that playing football makes you rich.
and finally there are a always a thousand reasons for something. but you used the word “relatively”. i am not sure how much can they compete with the economies of USA and germany, for instance.
jaanaan, I don't believe in your statistics. Allow me to quote my favourite cricket commentator Najvot Singh Sidhu, "Statistics are like miniskirts, they reveal more than what they hide."
