If I buy cricket kit from Pakistan, how much would that cost me?
Should I buy the kit (pair of gloves, pair of pads, guards, bat, wicket-keeper gloves, WK pads, wickets, balls, bag and a helmet) from Pakistan or here, New Jersey, America.
If I buy them from Pak, and bring them here, would there be any trouble at customes at the airport?
well dear,
the best you can get is for maximum 5,000 Rupees, if you buy it from Lahore, Karachi or SIALKOT (though more expensive one are there as well),, SABY will give you the best reply I guess.. ....
but yyou need to check about the cutom authorities,, I dont know where you live, but if in KSA, then here the ARABS will tear everything in search of narcotics :(
If you plan on visiting Pakistan soon, then you should buy it from there. It will be cheaper. You can probably fit it all in a kit-bag and check it in as baggage.
If you wanna buy from the states, then your best bet may be Singh Sports in Jamiaica, NY or BigBlueCricket.com (i believe they are out of NJ). Another cheap online site is http://www.cricketcentre.com.au
Good luck.
And make sure you buy at least TWO bats. Three if you are buying from Pakistan. Don’t forget to buy thigh pads, elbow (arm) guard and chest guard.
Bat and helmet is definitely a must buy from Pakistan. I bought my helmet last year from Pak and it cost me less than $10. Get some trousers too, they're pretty cheap. Pads are a bit bulky but if you can always check in a Cricket kit back as whole. Cricket kit bags are not of that good quality there though.
Well dude it is much more economical to buy kit/gear from Pakistan .. it totally depends on the brand that you will get, everything (except for the bats) is about 70% cheaper in Pak.. there is no such thing as readymade kit .. you can mix and match what ever you want … and the quality is good too … as far as bats they are very competitively priced here too, there is not much of a price difference .. get a pre-knocked bat .. that will save you lot of hassle … My team got the equipment (three kits) and uniform from Pakistan it was all CA .. all the bats are UT (very popular in Pak and I have seen many players and teams using UT in USA ) .. my personal bat is CA Gold (Inzi’s bat ) it was a pain to knock that bat .. Ihsan King is another good Pak bat … and we did not have problem bringing the stuff over here .. which league are you playing for ?
RB, We will be playing for Garden State Cricket League.
Nikema, I need to bring at least 2 kits; 2 pairs of gloves, 2 pairs of pads, gurds, 1 helmet, clothing, 1 WK gloves, WK pads, bag and at least 2 bats. And the captain wants me to bring some plastic balls too. I wonder why.
So I guess, about $250 should be enough for 2 kits. right.
we always get cricket stuff from pakistan..its cheaper..better quality..and more selection..just last year we got wickets, two bats, cork balls, gloves and other things..it was not a problem on customs..i do remember that one person said jokingly to my 12 year old brother..beta tumhara bat rakh lain gay…infact, i have noticed that people on airport feel very proud that we are taking pakistani products.
i always buy sport supplies from karachi..shahid sports in nazimabad #2 or saddar zindabad :k:

I heard Syalkot is the best place to buy sporting goods. Does any one know where exactly in Syalkot?

Hi mate
the best way to go shopping in Sialkot for Cricket-goods is the Bazar near Drammaan wala Chowk (Sialkot-center near Railway Station) .....
u better take someone who knows a bit about Bats with while buying one ...... never get satisfied with 1st price the shopkeeper offers u since they get a huge profit margin .....
Don't go for cheap things ..... better spend some hundreds reupees more on quality since u won't be around to exchange them for better ones ..... especially when u buy clothing and protection gear .....
A good Bat u should get in the range of 2700 - 3200 rupees (AM, AS, CA etc. etc. ) also buy grips and the wooden mallet to knock in the bat ..... when u buy ball then not the low quality since this'll make ur bat suffer (from my own experience)
As i said better take someone with u who can help u along in shopping .....
