Re: Cricket Books
^^ I got really tempted to buying the Steve Waugh's Book when i read about it on Cricinfo couple of days ago.....Phenoixdesi u bringing up this book makes me think that Great Minds think alike :D
Re: Cricket Books
wass up nikema bhai jan…you are slowly but gradually approaching towards your first 1000 test runs ( 1000 posts at gupshup). …and yeah I am really looking forward to buy Steve Waugh’s book…though I have to admit that I never liked Steve as a batsman…he was a pretty dull player to watch as compared to tendulkar, lara or inzi but I have a great respect for him being a statesman or a tactician…he was definitely a thinker and that is why I am interested to read his book because I am sure he must have a honest objective-oriented analysis of his cricketing span 1984-2003. His criticism or appreciation of any player would definitely mean a lot….plus he played international cricket for almost 20 years, pretty much covering the entire span for which this new generation has been watching the cricket.
Re: Cricket Books
The thing that makes this book more interesting is that it is Written by Steve Himself, unlike other cricketers who have other Authors writing their Boigrophies this book(800 pages + from what i have heard) are written by Steve himself.....
The last book that i recently finsihed is " Sunny Days" by sunail gavaskar, i had hear alot about that book and supposibly this was the best kind of boigrophy by an asian cricketer---all that hype and plus i wanted to know how Sunil felt like when he played against Pakistan in his first two tours(78, 82-83), so the first thingi did after i found that book in an Indian Book Store at Devon, and kindaa skimmed through this Kebab place (in UR Chi- Town, which gave me terrible feeling in stomach afterwards) but to my surprise Sunil Jee wrote this book only after 4 Years of international cricket and only after he had scored about 2400 runs which really surprised me-----Jeez i mean guy was waht we call " Khoud Prast" ---all the respect for him as Arguably the greatest Asian Batsman but i mean writing a Biogrophy only after 2000+ runs hmmmmmm ...i wouldnt say anything....coz we know things work out differently for our neighbours.
