Cricinfo having problem occasionally

Not the site itself but probably the ad that they are putting on the site closes the browser and starts scanning computer for a “virus” or “malware”, happened to me couple of times… I’m not going to that site again :naraz:

Are you sure it's their website and not your computer that's acting up? Cause I visit that site regularly without any problem.

at work my antivirus detecting the same. it is not the cricinfo site but i believe those ads as Mr. ehtasab mentioned.

Definitely not my PC, the popup I get after browser is shut down is not from the anti-virus installed on my PC.

^ It works fine for me too, but lately sometimes as soon as Cricinfo website downloads completely browser shuts down and I get a popup saying my computer needs to be scanned and this message is definitely not from the anti-virus installed on my PC.

I thinks its either "antivirus2009" or some tool like that, this thing if gets installed then it is difficult to remove.

I have the exact problem as ehtasab since yesterday on my system.

It has nothing to do with Cricinfo.

Its a malware that looks like I accidentally downloaded from somwhere. I am trying to get rid of it but with not much success so far.

^ I only get this issue when I visit Cricinfo, though it dosen't happen all the time but that could be because of revolving ads!? On same PC visiting any other website doesn't show this issue. I had to kill the "scan" everytime started, if I had let it finish scanning then the malware would've installed on the PC and it would've been really tough getting out of the system.
