Cric Quiz XIV

Who is the only test batsman, other than Sutcliff, whose career test avg never went below 50.

Hint: He played in the 80s and 90s.

dawn bread-man...

That would be the one and only Javed Miandad... he never looked back after scoring a century in his debut against New Zealand, and if I recall correctly, his average used to be about 57 up until his last year (thats when it fell slightly to its current level of 52.57).

Pakistan's greatest batsman Javed Miandad, is one of only two men (England's Herbert Sutcliffe is the other) to have a Test average that never dropped below 50. :-)

its not a record but who is the only batsman in cricket, who has gotten out in all possible ways?

aaj hee wisden ka all today's yesterdays parrha hai kia umair miya :D

As far as I know , no one has been given out TIMED OUT…
so I dont think there is any one who has got out in all possible ways. and I think may be Steve Waugh..is one crcikter who might be given out in most ways..( other than usu
al like handled the ball or obstructing the field)…

waissay Umair, your question was simple, Javed Miandad :k:

i think it was amarnath of india....

if i recall correctly it's Javed Miandad. I think people who said Javed are right.

Mohinder Amarnath...

I guess he has gotten out in most possible ways.

For those who guessed Javed Miandad are correct! :k:
Shows the class of this cricketer.
Made a century on his debut and his avg never went below 55 throughtout his career but until the end like someone mentioned above.

That can not be possible because no batsman is yet to have gotten out by hitting the ball twice or being timed out.

I am not sure Umair, but I think there are instances of getting out by hitting the ball twice. Timed out has occurred but to minor league players not test players.

I also think the same,(In International Cricket), I read some where long time ago that hitting the ball twice occured on a few occasions, but for sure regarding TIMED OUT, there is no such incident so far.
