**A Greek student accused of throwing alcohol over a British tourist and setting him alight in a Crete nightclub is due to go on trial.**Maria Fanoudaki, 26, is accused of assaulting Stuart Feltham, 20, who suffered second degree burns.
The plumber from Swindon has reportedly flown home after leaving hospital.
Ms Fanoudaki says she poured a drink over Mr Feltham after he made inappropriate advances, but denied setting fire to him.
It is understood Mr Feltham caught a flight home over the weekend after being discharged.
Speaking from hospital, Mr Feltham told the Daily Telegraph he was subjected to an “unprovoked attack”.
Forensic tests
The incident took place in a bar in the resort of Malia last week as Mr Feltham and five friends enjoyed the last night of a two-week holiday.
Ms Fanoudaki’s lawyer Nikos Maniadakis said the Briton had “fondled” his client, prompting her to pour a glass of sambuca over him.
“It was a living nightmare - I thought I was going to die”
Stuart Feltham
Ms Fanoudaki could face up to five years in prison if convicted.
Her trial was postponed last week while forensic experts examined the clothing Mr Feltham was wearing at the time of the incident.
The trainee plumber suffered burns to his chest and stomach.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, he said he had been in “excruciating pain” when the flames took hold.
“It was a living nightmare - I thought I was going to die,” he told the paper.
Mr Feltham’s parents have insisted reports their son had been sexually harassing the woman were “absolute nonsense”.
Ian Feltham, 48, said it was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
