It would be ok to use credit card if you pay the whole amount before the due date.
Q: Is it permissible to use a credit card facility?
A: Yes, it is permissible to use a credit card facility. However, a credit card holder should ensure that deposits are made on time to avoid paying interest.
But arent we missing a moot point here. To have a credit card you need to have a bank account. But isnt having a bank account also haraam since the bank pays you interest on the money deposited in the bank.

Not on checking account, only if you have a saving.
Then how would a muslim buy house in US (or most western countries). Or is Home loan a special category.
Hi narayan, how are you i have changed my nick hopefully u recognize me.
Brother, its again a trade off whether you want a dunyafied love, or after life here you decide your faith.
Now its left to one's faith, if any individual wants to satisfy Allaah a rented house will suffice him and again i mention its left to one's faith, Allaah has provided us with free choice and without any force.
So if any muslim wants to ahead, s/he can go ahead but faith in Allaah is most important. The are so many muslim converts from other religions especially in western countries who have relinquished and are living in rented house today, only to avoid to interest.
One of such eg, for reference is Abdul Raheem Green a notable islamic scholar.
How about borrow money from your friend/relative, because loan/interest is haram and do not return on time or even do not return? keep praying and keep promising, but do not return. any fatwa for this?
clear cut deceiving...go the qazi or court...auctioned his property...or wealth..or if not...put behind the bars ...simple....
Sir Ji
I went to Police station, police man said I do not take Interest but some Bribe is halal. Then he forwarded me to Dept. of Justice. Judge said I do not take Interest it is haram, but some bribe is OK as per Sahaba's sayings in Al-Bukhari. I love Bukhari
Islamic Banking is one of latest grey (gray) matters that the world is being subjected to. The Ulema as earnest as they may be, and May Allah (SWT) increase them in wisdom and myself too, have given a ruling on a current situation, probably based on the restrictions that the modern day brings us. This ruling is divided in as much as that people should only take one mortgage to house themselves, to the other end that absolutely no interest bearing loan is to be taken out.
The Banks have cunningly adopted pre-Islamic Arab forms of money lending using those names and have coined the methods 'Islamic', just to avoid the issue of rib'a. However, many Muslims quickly realise that the sums speak for themselves. The Islamic Banks are really only there for rich people who can afford those high payments and deposits.
Islamically speaking a loan was only really requested and given on a charitable basis. The value of the product at the selling date is what is expected back.
So here is what we should do in the climate of today's dusty system. Muslims need to create guilds, in their localities. In to which they put a small amount every month in the way of charity. People looking for a property should be doing the same but at a higher rate and that would put them on the waiting list. Based on a rigid most need criteria basis with duration on the list couples and families are selected to move into a property that is owned by the guild, paying a monthly installment cost like a rent. After this is over they should then move to another property the mortgage of which will be covered partly by them (if the new property is greater in value) and partly by the new family that moves into their old home. The mortgage is given by the guild at each transaction as they have the collective wealth. Muslims need to start such schemes to fight interest based activity.
These are visible solutions to the problems of today if only Muslims were more organised.
true, very true. where the money comes from and what use it is put to counts towards that organization within the muslim people as businesses and individuals and families who spend their earned money.
and then we are only as ethical as we do. so practice of not using credit cards or using them wisely, is essential.
I understand that using a credit card, getting a mortgage and anything that is interest bearing is Haraam... however thing like this are unavoidable in this day and age and especially when you are living in a non Islamic country. Yes, there are Islamic banks out there that offer Islamic products but you cannot say that they are completly interest free. They may not charge interest, however they have other non interest fees and it turns out to be the same kinda thing. Even watching TV is haraam and having pictures of ourselves is harraam, as is having pictures of anything that is livng. There are so many sins that we are not aware of, that we committ all day. This is certainly the case when ou are living in the west. Food items have ingredients written on them, but how do you REALLY trust what you are eating is 100% halal? You even hear stories of "halal" stores selling non-halal items.
^^ if you do not want to do that...then stop your insane logic.....
*credit cards are nott like air...that if you not braet ...you will die...
TV screen show rays in form of Image...so not haram...very few say that its haram..majority...almost all..say..its halal....
*food items having halal tag does not mean that ..you should go to nraby laboraotary and have a detailed test of ingredients...if you take it as Halal...and eat it...you will not be accountable at all...if it contains anything haram and you intentionally do not know that....
