ISLAMABAD: Senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS) Senator Mian Raza Rabbani on Tuesday declared the creation of new ministries after the 18th Amendment as unconstitutional.

He added that standing committees, headed by Syed Khursheed Shah and Maula Bakhsh Chandio, had laid the foundation for the rollback of the 18th Amendment.

Most of the new ministries have been assigned to the ministers belonging to the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q).

In a meeting of the Special Senate Committee on the Implementation of the 18th Amendment at the Parliament House on Tuesday,** Senator Rabbani adopted a strict stance on the creation of new ministries and said that the rights of provinces had been usurped after the 18th Amendment.**

The ruling party senator questioned as to what was the need for the new ministries.

He said that if there was an objection to the devolution of ministries, why did the cabinet approve it in the first place?

New ministries are clearly meant to be as political bribe to keep the Q-league with the government. The government says it is its right to do legislation, and while it says it, it means that it is its right to do anything in the name of democracy. This is a country which is broke and even its unborn children are indebted, that includes those who have taken oath to side with this party come what may.
