Creation of earth and sun

Re: Creation of earth and sun

You are welcome.

However I beg to differ on this "no question on Quran". Truth in Quran is always open to questions. We just need to remember that Quran is not a book of advance biology or physics.

Re: Creation of earth and sun

I go there from time to time.

Re: Creation of earth and sun

why can’t I question Quran, after all my life/aftelife is depending on the things written in it.

BTW I don’t know how do you prove the claim “the only perfect book on this earth” without question it. :hoonh:

please don’t mind i am not personally attacking you but we have term for this kind of mentality “Lakeer ka faqeer”.

Re: Creation of earth and sun

How do I know it’s the perfect book? God tells Himself. Read the Quran, Surah Baqarah 2:2, “Zaalik-ul Kitaabu La-Raeba Feeh”!

Still doubtful :hoonh:

Only Allah knows the best!

Re: Creation of earth and sun

Its not the matter of being doubtful. without asking questions if I believe in something then it is blind faith.

Not really my cup of tea, for myself tried and tested makes more sense.

Of course only Allah knows the best. But He has not forbidden us from trying to find the truth as much as possible. And IMHO this questioning ability is the only thing which distinguishes us from robot (lakeer ke faqeer). If Allah wanted, He could have created robots instead of creating human beings with brains to think, learn and act. :hoonh:

Re: Creation of earth and sun

Oh dear larki from new york, On one hand there is Quran, and on the other hand it’s interpretation.

There is so many sects within Arab world just because there are different versions of Quranic interpretations.

So it is OK to go “grail hunting” with the interpretation and question everything. This is in do doubt disturbs the sanctity of Quran.

Re: Creation of earth and sun

Hey, don’t get me wrong. Pls. read my above posts. Allah says in the Quran and there are plenty of ahadith too about seeking knowledge, learning and exploring the universe. One thing, I said and will continue to say that Quran is The Perfect Book. If I cannot understand due to my limited knowledge that doesn’t mean there are loopholes in the science described in Quran. I also said, sure go, ask questions and try to understand. But where one says, as per science this is not possible, how does Quran says, that this thing was created as such… that’s wrong. I don’t care what Science says. How many theories of Movement of Sun have the scientists come up with before they reach that which was stated in the Quran, “WaShamsu Tajri …” meaning that Sun is travelling through the space. So todays’ science despite all their experimentation and what not, can be proven wrong by their own researchers but whatever Quran said about the creation of Universe is not wrong. One may not understand, how it happened or why it happened. We are nothing before Allah’s (SWT) knowledge and creation vis-avis running of this universe. So go and seek knowledge and if you cannot find the answer despite all your search, you still can’t say oh Quran is not right in saying this. The best approach at that point will be, okay Allah knows best and I look forward to Allah (SWT) explaining it to me, as He promised!
That’s my approach, you may have your understanding, which is perfectly fine. The issue here is not to prove the other person wrong.

Re: Creation of earth and sun

That is not what the Quran is saying. That is what the interpreter/translator is saying (texts inserted in the parenthesis are by the translator) to help you better understand what the verse means. It does not say anywhere whether the earth is flat or not. & besides, carpets are also capable of being spread on non-flat grounds.

Re: Creation of earth and sun

15:19 And the earth -We have spread it out wide, and placed on it mountains firm, and caused [life] of every kind to grow on it in a balanced manner,
from my source, I have gotten this translation.
I agree with Lahori Cheetah.

Re: Creation of earth and sun

Can you please point out where did I say Quran is not right?

and I agree to you these are very serious topics, winning points is not the intent or the aim.:) thatswhy I it call discussion/sharing not argument.

Re: Creation of earth and sun

go figure out why the word carpet went into brackets if it was indeed present in the original arabic script…
its just the translator who felt the spread is like a carpet…
pick up another translation and u might not find carpet in it…
