Afshi , thanks for sharing the wonderful ideas ... you said you saute onions and add biryani masala and left over salan for biryani ... why add more onions ? what if we just heat the salan , add a bit of biryani masala and the usual biryani process?
lol not sure..my mom says to do it this way. i guess it makes it more fresh? there are other things that i do as well, but i dont remember (i usually write everythign down in my cookbook)
sometimes i add a bit of plum sauce to make the masala a little khatta. it makes the biryani taste good!
Again a brilliant tip , thanks so much Afshi ... yes adding a bit of khatta does help , I believe due to the khatta that you add, the left over food doesnt go off quickly ... and obviously it adds a kick to the food :@:
Love, love, love the ideas Afshi , keep them coming please .. and if possible please do share the recipes as well ... I particularly like the idea of banana bread and the muffins :@:
Though i wanna ask , when you add more stuff to a left over salan .. and make more salan , wont it still go off coz of the first salan ingredients may not remain fresh for that long ...
well itna hoti hi nahi coz theres only me n hubby ,daughter likes to eat only roti or rice without salan exception being daal or beans......and 2-3 piece hotay hain chicken kay which u cant serve as salan n i dont want to throw it so i just add half cup of daal which makes enuff for both of us n my daughter is a big fan of daals so it gets eaten by the end of the day
afshi those really are good ideas, i also use masala from tandoori chiken ( that is left in the pan after baking it) to make rice n they taste so yummy
