Creating a Forum

So I drove by the Apple store two days ago and there was a line stretching out across and outside the mall. :konfused: I had to pull over and walk right up to a lady who had a baby that she carefully shielded as she saw me approaching to ask what the fuss was about. Were they giving out free iPads or something because I definitely wanted a piece of that. But no, it was just the iPhone 5 coming out  She said it to me as if “duh, don’t you know this”. Whatevs. You’re the one with the baby in 50 degree weather, no stroller and a long line ahead. I win.

Now on to the actual topic.

I want to add on a discussion area to my website for the salon. Website has not been launched yet so its not out there. Its just going to be beauty discussions…talking about skin care, makeup, etc.

I got the domain name…someone said that was important so its done.

I got the cute little premium plan at wix so I can set it up step by step except it seems harder than I thought. I thought I could just set it up as any other website but I am slowly realizing that’s not the case. Its a bit more complicated than that.

Ideas? Suggestions? More importantly hewp me hewp me…damsel in distress :naak:

Re: Creating a Forum

lol, Reha how could you not know iphone5 is out. :p

Sorry can't help with actual query because I don't know anything about it.

Re: Creating a Forum

wix does not support forums. if you were planning discussion forum then better for you to buy godaddy hosting plan or any other hosting provider. and use open source forum like this or something from codeplex.com (Your request has been blocked. This could be due to several reasons.)
how to make a forum | Wix.com Answers

or you may start blog on blogspot. with your new domain name. much more easier for you. or may buy wordpress domain.

Re: Creating a Forum

The idea of starting a blog is way better.

Re: Creating a Forum

You should be able to setup a forum with any of the web hosting setup...specially go-daddy...they have generic setup's for word press and phpbb forums.

Re: Creating a Forum

Go get you're setup at SquareSpace.com. Maybe a bit more money but very secure intuitive. They have a 14 day free trial for you to try out the interface and see if you like it.

Forget the forum actually.

I don't think I realized what I was asking? Have you guys seen MakeupAlley.com?

Thats the format I want. Where do I start?

Re: Creating a Forum

  1. Hosting . . . you want it for free ?? talk to me
  2. Website . . . Joomla zindabad . Designing and customization will cost you money . I think you need online appointments system and a customized look .
  3. Discussion forum . . . Kunena/ccBoard . . . FREE Joomla extensions (GS like interface) . . . Plus you'll need it anyways for SEO
