regular flats or wedges are comfortable too and don't force you to lift your whole foot off the floor.

Yeah I agree with that...it might sound weird to some but my feet get really tired in flat sandals (without any heels).

I'm quite in love with them. They're cheap but good quality, heel isn't too high so they feel like wedges when look at them from distance and when you walk in them....and they are very light weight and very very comfy.
Besides, it depends a lot on individuals how they carry something.
