I finally find a pink eyeshadow that I liked and that suited me, but the only problem is that its a cream shadow, and when I put liquid eyeliner over it, it all looked so nice until like two minutes later when they both combined together and the shadow started to crease and disappeared almost altogether along with the eyeliner! Why the heck did that happen??? I reapplied several times after, even trying liner first then shadow, and changing the liquid liner to pencil, but no matter what the eyeshadow and eyeliner still smudged together! :hinna:
I Hate creme shadows actually because i cant put them properly i.e. i cant put them evenly with out smudging it :S
but why dont you like apply a coat of powder foundation it would help a lot to keep the creme shadow for a longer period of time.
ur using a bit too much of the shadow..while ur putting it on..make sure u spread it out..i use my fingers..make sure u spread out the shadow where its not wet or creamy anymore..and THEN..apply ur eyeliner..
yeah cream eye shadows feel heavy and greasy on my lids... and i have the same issue with the blending of the eyeliner... but i just put on more eyeliner and deliberately smudge it and then it looks good. i don't think you can get a clean line with cream shadow and liner together.
Leave the shadow on to "dry," then apply the eyeliner and don't mess with your eyes for a bit to see how it works.
When I do makeup (I'm a MUA), I apply a cream shadow base (over the neutralizer and foundation), let it set, then I apply the liner (liquid or pencil). It never smudges.
If you can't find a way to make it stay without smudging, apply the shadow above the lash line and leave an empty space for the liner. Practice makes perfect.
Well the reason is because the shadow is cream, so you what you can do is after applying the shadow, just powder the area where you want to apply the eyeliner or even use a pink eyeshadow (powder) just over the lower lid (close to eye-lashed) then apply the eyeliner also you should use a liquid liner and not pencil, then you’ll be able to get the look you want, try it and see if its work, it should work and I sometime do this trick and it works for me.
So good luck with your eyes.
Creme eyeshadow can be difficult to apply, gets creased or disappears or feels heavy and can look greasy and you can't blend other colours with it. I suggest you use an eyeshadow in that colour but in baked or powder form. I never use creme eyeshadows because they are such a nuisance and there really is no way to avoid what you are dealing with right now. You can apply base or transluscent powder or whatnot but I don't think it will work. The eyeliner doesn't stay because it hasn't been directly applied to the skin but over a coat of creme shadow so the liner has nothing to 'cling' onto. You could stop the eyeshadow above the lashline for your eyeliner but like I said creme shadows are difficult to apply accurately, but do give it a go and let us know. :)
