Tickle him.
'Cowardice', not 'Cowardness'
ill wait for some serious replies. Thank you very much.
hmm..
if he's Muslim i guess you can try explaining to him that only Allah is his savior and only Allah can harm him...so he should not be scared of anything wordly and place his entire trust on Allah...and whatever Allah wills happens...
and his fate depends on his actions alone...thats the only criteria Allah will judge him by..
thats what i try to tell myself atleast when i am scared...
hope it helps
you expect serious replies when you trash all threads ![]()

It can help motivate them for a certain period of time, but it won't make them 'brave'.
My grandfather once told us that cowardice and bravery are innate traits, and if one is a born coward he will remain one throughout his life.
You have to accept people for what they are. If they are cowards there must be a reason, Perhaps they are very courageous in other aspects of their lives, they are simply not courageous where you would like them to be!
Remember when you decide someone is not courageous you have judged them and found them wanting. What about trying to find something positive about them and building on that?
and I just remembered:
"Fools rush in where angels fear to tread"
lussi welcome

hmmm
no disrespect intended to your grandfather ofcourse..but i think if we accept this then aren't we saying that essentially man cannot improve from the state he is born in if he is born as a coward? doesn't that go against the concept of jihad-e-nafs and self amelioration which is so central in Islam? i would think that if one wants to, and sincerely tries to then they can improve themselves, overcome their cowardice and become braver...
i also agree with what Shirin baji has said, ie
Perhaps they are very courageous in other aspects of their lives, they are simply not courageous where you would like them to be!

I agree with shirin.
Irem read existentialism and humanism, it is a brilliant read about the potential of man. :)

when do u know the a task like this is impossible?
when ppl bring in existentialism, humanism and potential of man to answer a simple question.
te way to do it, i am afraid is to block the easy way out of a situation. even the biggest coward will do anything to save is skin.
waisay jokes aside, courage is all about having contempt and a level of incapaiblity for the cowardly way out. generally if u dont have that in yr mental make-up then it can be diffucult to make a person adopt it. the seed has to be there in the first place.
A coward will always be a coward. Try making him drink lussi though :k:
bhang lussi works better :k:
Re: Cowardness
