Cow urine sold alongside food in London shops!

So Hindus still drink it?

Re: Cow urine sold alongside food in London shops!

it's not for human consumption...it's for religious purposes. i think some Hindus use it for body massages followed by a good shower. they say it's got some medicinal properties.

i've neither known anyone using it nor seen being sold in any of the stores in India. i think it's for export only. the exporter definitely wants to cash-in on religious beliefs.

i personally think that the idea is disgusting. UK should stop it's sale on it's soil. i assume they are sold only in ethnic stores.

only Morarji Desai, ex Indian Prime Minister in the 70's, is known to have regularly drank cow urine [gaao mutr] and also used it for body massage.**

I personally think imposing Shariah is disgusting.

Why would it be sold in stores in India? Cows are common place there, and I reckon it would be easy for anyone to get access to it for free, and it would make no economic sense to sell it in stores.
In any case, Im somewhat surprised that UK allows it to be sold for external use, and that there is no ‘ban’ as such on selling it in a food store…just an advisory.

Thank you Quaid-e-Azam for giving us Pakistan.. :d6c:

Re: Cow urine sold alongside food in London shops!

What a ridiculous comment.

Re: Cow urine sold alongside food in London shops!

i said i never saw it in any stores in India. you are right there is no need to sell it in stores whilst it's readily available on the streets for free. :)

Re: Cow urine sold alongside food in London shops!

This is a serious question for those who may know the answer.

Is an Indian cow, in any ways more sacred than ... let's say an American cow? I mean those who worship cows in India, if those people are in USA, would they look at an American cow with the same respect?

Re: Cow urine sold alongside food in London shops!

a cow is a cow is a cow!!!

so, i'm sure they look at cows outside India in the same revering way as they would see inside India. why would there be any difference?

the only difference is that they don't keep cows in their homes. i wonder if they would consider having them on the premises of their temples.

surprisingly, i've never seen a cow in any of the mandirs in India.

Re: Cow urine sold alongside food in London shops!

I don't know. The same reason why dates from madina are considered a tabarruk as compared to dates from California.

Mandir ka prasad, holy water from church, nayaz ka halwa ...why these things are considered holier than what's available outside?

Re: Cow urine sold alongside food in London shops!

'holier than cow?" :hmmm:

you got a point there and i dunno the answers myself to be sure!

there is ONLY ONE chashma e zamzam while cows are as many in numbers as human in India, probably!

Re: Cow urine sold alongside food in London shops!

Well I also believe in what you are saying. I just thought that lets ask.

I mean you are right that those Hindus who don't eat beef in India are not going to eat beef in USA because cow was American, hence less sacred.

Re: Cow urine sold alongside food in London shops!

they're trying to spread hinduism and its culture to the Brits and others living in UK

Re: Cow urine sold alongside food in London shops!

cow urine might taste better than your average english meal. pour it on.

Re: Cow urine sold alongside food in London shops!

Kishore sung a song on that.

Tu pee aur jee

Re: Cow urine sold alongside food in London shops!

I vaguely remember that song. Haven't heard in x decades.

Pee ne waalon ko
Pee ne kaa bahana chahiye

Re: Cow urine sold alongside food in London shops!

India’s Hindus won’t eat cows, but might drink their pee

So it is no longer a secret or a Taboo subject, now that it is blessed by BB Chakravarti Channel
