Not exactly, what she means it that within the group of some sects they are all headed towards same direction, she didn’t mean to include “other religions”.

Not really, the reason of difficulty in “inter-sect” marriages is based on religious “practices” and are not “forbidden”.
If practices are differnt than instructions, what the hell the instructions are for. When you say inter sects marriage are not forbidden, you mean ‘sects’ are mentioned in the holy book.

Don’t confuse yourself with existing “nationalism” that is prevailing in current “world” with “Islam”.
The whole discussion is based on ‘current’ world which i am saying Islam has not been able to transform.

No, there is no need for “cover”, there is no prohibition or stoppage in inter-sect mixing/wedding based on Islam, however Hinduism does that (whether current Hindu majority practices or not is a different issue).

You are still confused. The society in Pakistan has carried some Hindu traditions, but other “Muslim” societies don’t have that, why? cuz of long-time effects don’t go away so shortly, you won’t see same “cultural” practices prevailing in Pakistan in other countries i.e. Saudi, Egypt, Iran, Indonesia.
You mean to say Islam was not powerful enough to change this even after 1000 years. You have not carried some, but almost all traditions except some women related customs-one i can think of is putting bindi on the forehead. What different custom you can tell me vis s vis men- you drink, you smoke, you do adultry, you gamble, you fix matches - what difference you are talking ?

The reason inter-sect marriages are not forbidden is that sects do not exist in Quran or even Hadith, these are man-made school of thoughts/interpretations on how to do certain things/solve problems.

Islam did solve it, for a good period and region, but when it got mixed with human desires then what do you expect of a religion? It followers divert away from real objective and this is what we are seeing.

Islam was powerful enough to cause changes and break social abnormalities but as said earlier, human desires come in the way and distort the teachings and hence gain influence from “regional practices/religions”.

You will be able to find people who claim to be Muslims but also read/follow books from other religions but that doesn’t mean that these are approved by religion … i.e. your own president

Do you believe conversions help in improving the society ? Specially, if a guy is converting just out of frustrations ( poverty or unjustice ) or to marry a girl ?

Regarding mariage, i would specifically want to know if inter-sect conversions are common in Pakistan ?

Yes very common nowdays!. Many people in pakistan itself are converting to christianity..but not as mostly christians are converting to islam. I have seen few of them converting in pakistan to christianity.
