You should be using specific dyes for gray coverage. When you go to your drugstore…make sure the product is specifically formulated for gray hair. That will help.

Also…gray hair tends to resist color…try to start on the gray area before the rest of your hair. So if the color takes about 35 minutes to develop - which is typical - you should probably do your gray roots for 20 minutes before applying the dye to rest of your hair.

Make sure your hair care products are ALL for color treated hair. That means sulfate and paraben free shampoos, conditioners and products.

Don’t wash your hair as frequently.

Thanks Reha, my hair tends to get oily very quickly so I wash it almost every day but i’ll try not to. Also, there’s something i’m still a little confused about. I have black hair, with whites…my goal is to have medium brown hair. How do I manage to turn the the whites, brown and the black, medium brown? Can I achieve both with one box of color if I get the one that colors whites? Will it turn the black hair lighter also?
