In the fight against ISIL we are systematically targeting their finances, revenue sources, recruiting efforts and their leaders. In the overall military operation, Inherent Resolve led by the U.S., two specific operations target ISIL finances, Operation Point Blank and Operation Tidal Wave II. Operation Point Blank targets ISIL cash and Tidal Wave II targets ISIL’s illicit oil revenue. We often receive comments on this forum suggesting that the U.S. Coalition forces are not targeting their illicitly acquired oil revenue, but that is a false assumption. We have been targeting them and we continue to do so, which greatly hinders their planning, movement and overall ambition of building a false caliphate.
