How much would 184-pin DIMM run for in Pakistan?
What about good video cards?
I currently have P4 1.80 GHz, can I upgrade with one with higher Ghz? How much would that be in Pakistan?
I’m going to Pakistan after Ramadan and I need to upgrade my PC. Knowing the price range for these products would help me alot.

keep in mind you have to probably change your motherboard what ever you choose..
For upcoming tech in Graphics card is PCIe rather than AGP
and Dual core rather than solo core.
First of all how much budget you have got?

Why do you want to upgrade? Are you into gaming or maybe developing a BI app? You should answer that question along with how much more performance boost do you need to solve your particular problem.
Before you upgrade you should check if your system specially mother board is upgradable and if bios is going to support it or not. If it is upgradable you should research if the posposed upgrade will give you the desired performance or not. Quite often systems are as slow as the slowest part and changing one or wo parts may not give you the optimum performance.
For regular business use and even for most software development your system is quite capable and I would not change anything at this time. I would save my money and wait for Vista to comeout and buy a vista capable system. In vista the graphics is rendered on the graphics processor rather than the main processor. This results in better vector based graphics and leaves your CPU alone to do other tasks. You can also use your USB stick for virtual memory, essentially giving you more RAM and cutting down on paging and giving you better performance.

I have about $1,000 USD to spend. Should I upgrade or I was thinking about buying a MacBook. Which would be better as I will be working with graphics/videos?
And I have checked my MB, it will allow me to upgrade memory up to 1 GB, and processor as well as the graphic card.
aaho, my MB doesn't have an AGP slot, just 3 PCI slots.

Definatly you must change your MB if you want to upgrade. After PCI came AGP and then PCIe. So think about that.

If you really want high performance PC for graphics purpose then just add some few $'s and replace your whole PC with brand new PC, which includes AMD 64 FX processor, genuine motherboard with PCI express slot, you can also upgrade RAM upto 4GB and you will get high performance NVIDIA graphics adaptor on board. Also, anytime later you can install external high performance PCI express graphics card of your choice for better performance.

For $1k you can get a sweet sweet machine. A notebook (Mac or otherwise) won't compare in price to a PC.
