Please don’t embarrass yourself, the 2002 elections were done under Army rule and were criticised by the west and the US remained silent about its legitimacy. The human rights commission of Pakistan openly declared the election as farcical, the ballots were stuffed. While the 2013 elections were acknowledged by everyone in the west and the world to be free and fair.
If ballots were stuffed than how come PMLN got 16 NA seats, PPP also got 62 NA seats and MMA got 53 NA seats … and in the end, PMLQ who got 76 out of 272 NA seats have to make a coalition government?
Why not make PMLQ get 182 NA seats (or more) so that they become a party with two third majority in NA? …
When winning was through Dhandli as happened in 2013 Provincial as well as National assembly election in Punjab, than why stay behind in numbers?
Please don’t try to act smart, just because PMLQ didn’t get the desired result by ballot stuffing doesn’t mean that the elections were not rigged. When elections are rigged on a mass level than people do find out about it, like the HRC of Pakistan did in 2002 in which even the West knew they were rigged.
sarkaar kal ke Faisalabad iHtijaaj kii peshgii kaamiiyaabii se is qadar Khauf-zada hai k vo baukhalahaT kaa shikaar hai.
agar sarkaar ne is iHtijaaj ko rokne kii koshish kii to kal se Pakistan meN intihaaii anarchy phailegii…sarkaar hosh ke naaKhun le aur doo ba doo [confrontation] kii soorat-e-Haal se gurez kare.
How come the elections of 2002 were rigged and not 2013? The only reason being that a dictator was ruling, keeping in mind the electoral process was the same in both elections.
In 2002, there was no puncture repair expert active, neither haddi khor with his judiciary and umpteen thieves was active, nor bureaucracy appointed between 1978 to 1999, loyal to thugs, had fear of army monitoring the election in 2002 were active, neither bureaucracy had any hope that rigging would be rewarded handsomely in 2002, neither Gullu Butts in police were active. So … one can say that election in 2013 was different than 2002.
When Imran Khan brings down the government than you will be on the winning side. Right now you are supporting a loser who lost the election and failed to topple the government.
Yes there is a HUGE difference in elections that are held under a dictatorship and ones that are not. Which is why that the ones held under the dictatorship were rejected by Pakistani and foreign observers.
I’m all for trying to correct rigging and corruption but this is an MQM practice. Let’s shut down all of Karachi every time MQM doesn’t get their way on something. End result - people’s livelihoods are impacted. This practice starts in Faislabad it will continue on - PTI will use it again and again because paralyzingly the economy always works to some extent but the cost can be severe. Look at what has happened in Karachi. Growing up I recall my cousins telling me frequently thru the year nearly biweekly that shops or schools would get shut down. I mean people have crap to do man. Then it chases away businesses from functioning in that city.
Nawaz will only resign if the Army supports Imran. Imran should either beg the Army to oust Nawaz or be ready to sit in his container for a couple more years.
His party was still here. Nawaz Sharif only alleges rigging when he loses elections, doesn’t even bother to contest the allegations in courts. I voted for PMLN in those elections, the way the elections were conducted were no different to the previous ones. Our system is biased in favour of the rulers, no one can prove anything against them.
I remember his exact words on the floor of parliament “jab peechlai election mai dhandli huyi thia toa hum toa nahi royai thai” meaning if rigging did take place this time forget about it and move on becuase thats how we will loot, plunder the country…no accountability and justice for anything…
