The alpine countries on equator like Kenya and Educador have good and stable weather round the year.

What about June and July down there?
june july is winter, sydney, melb, canberra gets cold like minus some thing at nights and around ten during the day
but perth's temp stay moderate all year round

You right about nairobi....but since last few years some extremities are creeping in. Nairobi has now started selling fans in dec-feb season and heaters in june-aug :( When I was small, I never knew fan or heater.

thanks all for your replies. my father in law cant bear the cold weather and he asked me to find out cities where he can spend his winter and has good security too.

He can go to Maldives or Kual Lumpur then or he can try Colombo as well.
Muscat is also a good option these days (till March).
