"we can NO longer say we are at peace, right?" - I think that's what you meant to say GFQ.
And yes, that is exactly what I mean....which is why I say that "being at peace with oneself is not necessarily enough".

Afterall....do they not also base their beliefs on the same principle - that they are Muslim and on the "right path".....

A muslims greatness lies in the fact that he belives that no matter what Allah will be with him/her and will always help them to the right path.
I think you should really check about this non-muslim stuff coz It really hurts to be called a non-muslim when you have everything to belive that you are muslim.
Imagine someone calls you a non-muslim how would you feel?

I suppose it's up to interpretation...but to me a true muslim never professes to be "great". It is not the person that is considered great, but the ideology of Islam. And yes, I agree that a true believer has faith that Allah will always help him/her.

What is there to check? You will find enough hadiths to say that it is permitted to refer to certain non-believers as non-Muslims or the very derogatory term: kafirs. All I can say is that there are at least a thousand other hadiths that I would first focus on following....but that's me.

First I was gonna say that I would be hurt. Then I thought about it and realized, wait a second...I have been referred to that several times right here on the forum and so far it hasn't bothered me one iota. Simply because no matter what anyone says, the most important entity knows what is in my heart. Allah knows what I believe and when it really counts ony He shall judge. So why be bothered. (Mind you, I am living in an environment where my rights to practice my religion as I deem fit are not questioned...so it's quite easy for me to be relaxed about it. There are others that don't have such luxuries.)
