I have no material wealth, I am nearly strapped for cash and not even giving zakat as I have no property or thing of value. However, I fear Allah and love Him and His Messanger (s.a.w.) just as much. I pray irregularly, though I remember Allah and say His names in my heart almost all the time. Can anyone please tell me if i can call myself ‘successful’ by whatever measures?
Re: Could I be pennyless and yet be successful?
Peace Mustaffa,
When Prophet Muhammad
asked from All Sahaba r.a. for donations, Hazrat Abu Bakar r.a. brought all and everything what He had in His possession. Our Prophet Muhammad
asked Hazrat Abu Bukar r.a. what He left for his himself (family). Hazrat Abu Bakar r.a. replied "I left Almighty Allah SWT and His Messenger
.
After reading this, do we think we can call ourself ‘successful’ by any means?
Re: Could I be pennyless and yet be successful?
If you have inner peace as to you are leading your life as per Islamic code of conduct that is just an indicator.
The real success is if Allah(SWT) accepts your deeds.
You will find out if you were successful on the day of judgement and that will be real success.
We should all strive for that.

You should be able to find the answer to your question within yourself.

There are three types of 'Nafs' mentioned in the book 'Holy Qur'an' (1) Nafs Al Ammarah (2) Nafs Al Lawwamah and (3) Nafs Al Mutmainnah.
Read and check out what type of Nafs do u own and I think it will help you out to call yourself sucessful at what measure.

Re: Could I be pennyless and yet be successful?
You shall try to pray 5 Times regularly, because this is the first thing you will be asked for. If you have passed this Trial you can consider yourself on the blessed path.
