What would you do if a person sitting next to you coughs with his mouth open over and over?
Re: Coughing with mouth open
I would start with a medical/scientific lecture about how he/she is spreading germs etc and he/she might be carrying a contagious viral or bacterial infection which can spread through the air or something and harm other people.
I usually throw in a couple of hard words they don't know, it does the trick and they start covering their mouths or stop coughing all together ;)
Re: Coughing with mouth open
The problem with me is that I don’t want to tell them ![]()
Re: Coughing with mouth open
give them a "look" or hand over a napkin/tissue saying "u might need this"
not sure how rude it is... but i have done this!!....went and place tissue box in front of them! :D

Re: Coughing with mouth open

Re: Coughing with mouth open
Atleast you can cover your mouth while coughing..
Re: Coughing with mouth open
Should I tell him openly to cover his mouth while coughing? ![]()
u know what i was trying to figure this out too.
why dont u cover yourself up instead of telling him to cover his mouth.dont u think it would be more convenient lol
Re: Coughing with mouth open
u fake a cough and cover ur mouth!...... he/she might get the point!...... be a role model! :D
Re: Coughing with mouth open
Stop breathing for a while, close your mouth and move away several feet. This will ensure nothing gets in your lungs. Then do whatever you want to tell other politely.
I meant without covering the mouth.
I have tried doing that but he coughs so much and so many times that,I don’t get a chance to cover everytime he coughs.
I have done that too,but he doesn’t seem to get the point.
Thanks for this piece of advice.
