Cough Problem

I"m facing cough problem from years. My doctor suggested to leave butter, Milk and rice bcoz they are not good for me :frowning: … he has used more then 100 medicines on me but after some time i again suffered in cough. i think its “kutta Khansi” :teary3: i heard this word in my child hood. I’ve especially used “Sharabat-e-Toot Siah”, Kaali Mirch with Honey but all in vain :bummer:
Is there any Desi Totka or Homeo Pathic medicines ???

Re: Cough Problem

may be you have allergy from something that you haven't discovered yet !

my mom get's cough but she has asthma.

eating warm honey with kalonji helps !

you need to find out the cause only then you will be able to treat it ! visit a chest specialist.

Re: Cough Problem

You are right Doctor also said the same thing but should i stop to eat all these things i have to go gym but i've left butter & milk ..... i think i ve dust allergy too ... I'll try kalongi as well ....
thanks for the advise

Re: Cough Problem

milk I can understand it causes cough.

but butter is okay I have never heard or seen any body getting problem from it ! may be you can try a different brand.

I also have dust allergy but I get sneeze from it !

Hey Sannan.

I am also on the same boat as you. My cough once it starts takes the longest time to go away. This year my cough started sumtym around feb and i'm still coughing and like diamond said you should check if you have allergies.

my prolonged cough of this year made my airways extra sensitive and i've become allergic to all the smells so i cough when there's perfume, cooking smell, cigarette, etc.

so maybe your cuogh is also due to allergies. just make an observation. cuz i'm sure u only cough at certain times. don't wear perfume for 1 day n see if it makes a difference.

Re: Cough Problem

Yup Chachi same problem, me too get allergic with perfumes .... i dunno why it is .... there must be some solution

Hey Sannan,

I jsut started noticing that i'm allergic to perfumes or other semlls..i dont knwo bout solution but i'm going for my allergy test at the end of this month. but here's sth which temporarily relieves my cough..it's halls. the black one. i dont know if other flavours/colours give temp. relief as well or not but i've only tried black one and take it on regular basis. it really helps.

don't chew it all in one go. put one piece in ur mouth and just leave it in ur mouth behind your teeth. this way little bit juice will keep coming out and will relieve you from allergies for longer time.

good luck. if u knwo of a solution temporary or permanent, plz do share.

Thanks.

Re: Cough Problem

I just recovered from a bad bad bad cough that lasted for about 10 days.. I tried quite a few things and I am sure one of them worked.. Mucinex, local honey (because we thought I might be allergic to pollens in the area), black tea with ginger, Delsym cough medicine (not so affective though) and I got relief from vicks cough drops!!

Re: Cough Problem

I've been having a coughing problem on and off for several years now, its usually accompanied by the same exact symptoms..so the same medicines work for me..try to track ur symptoms and whats aroujnd youwhen they start?

Re: Cough Problem

Very vague question.

Too many reasons for cough...like headache or fever.

Desi totakay are dangerous. Try to find reason first.

You should consult with a specialist and take advice.

Re: Cough Problem

does anyone know if sharbat e toot sian can be purchased in the Uk? I haven't seen it in any of the grocery stores.

Re: Cough Problem

oh i have been coughing for almost 2 months now had antibiotic for 10 days, and prescribed cough syrup it was ok while taking those, but 2 days later i started to cough again and i haaaaaaatteeeeeeeeeee it. could it be allergy but i don't know what, so will start on claritin see if its work.

Re: Cough Problem

If the cough is resistant to other medication, its highly likely that your cough is due to allergies. What you can do is take over the counter drugs that treat allergies, and/or nasal sprays.

If taking meds is a problem just get checked by a doctor to find out exactly what your allergic to. And alternatively you can opt for allergy shots so you can become immune to it and not have to worry about medication.
