Not sure if this should be posted in health or here.
Anyways so I like rice and eat it very often. If I am given a choice between roti and rice , I will most likely eat rice.
Whenevr I get cough and congestion, my mother says I should not eat rice.
I do not go to the doctor for cough and congestion so I have never had a chance to ask the doctor here.
Is this true or a myth that you should not eat rice when you have cough etc.
I think its a myth .. coz I havnt seen any solid research on this , though I know many desi aunties who believe rice can make cough worse .. but to be honest , I love rice and even when i am really down with cough and flu , I have eaten rice and it most certainly had no effects on the cough ..
It is sort of a myth. These days I have severe nasal congestion accompanied by dry cough due to the dryness in the atmosphere. I eat rice everyday (that is my lunch) and it has no effects of the congestion or cough. What effected the it was how dry or hydrated the air was.
